FF VII Remake Graphics King?

Obviously a bug not only because of the awful pop-ins but some textures just don't seem to load at all. That or Square didn't give a shit and shipped the game with missing textures anyway. Over a week after release, still looks like that.

Dont know but Tifa is cute in this game.

This game is just too much for current gen. I expect worse for CP2077.

Square Enix did a horrible job porting over Final Fantasy XV to PC. I see the same trend following this as well.

Has to be a glitch with the textures though. God of War looks better than this game and you never see such a botched job.

According to Digital Foundry, it's a texture streaming issue. It takes time for the textures to load on the PS4, which is struggling to stream the textures in real time.

As for GoW, that has mostly empty environments. FF7R has more densely packed urban environments, which require a greater variety of textures.

No imho, but then again king of graphics for whatever that even means, is so subjective...

Damn that shit reminds me of the recently released Star Wars game, the textures at times took 30secs to pop in lol.

I can give them a pass because the overall experience is jusy amazing for me. So much nostalgia is involved though so I am bias.

I do have a problem with the mirror in Cloud's lodging. It wont render for some reason even though I waited and reloaded. Oh well price of last gen, next gen PS5 gonna be good.

Yeah, some parts of the game look laughably bad, and then you have other parts that look great. If you wait, then sometimes the higher-quality textures will load up, but even those are low-res shite a lot of the time.

@Jag85: Sole textures don’t appear to load at all though. I understand the ones that are slow to stream which leads to awful pop-in which is prevalent in this game but many textures just stay PS2-level.

I could use many other examples besides God of War. Horizon, AC: Origins/Odyssey, RDR2 etc.

Well some textures have been loading for over 30hrs.

It's so annoying that most Unreal Engine games do this with the textures. The Outer Worlds and Mechwarrior 5, which I played recently, also do stuff like this all the time. If I remember correctly even older versions of the engine had texture streaming problems.

This pop in issue is a classic Unreal problem.

The scene in I think chapter 15, when you're looking down on Midgar, looks like early ps2 graphics.

Oh God, yeah, that was really low-res. Incredibly blurry. Worst of all, I think it was just a static image.

Best looking game we have on PS4 to date. This game is awesome and looks amazing.

It looks awesome, but I think Jedi Fallen Order on Xbox One X looks a little bit better.

Typical Sony exclusivity bringing down the quality of a video game.

Luckily the art design of the game manages to still look great with all the little details they added.

I can't wait to play FF7R on something better then ultra-low settings loading off a crappy hard drive.

I would definitely not call this the king. Characters look and move great but a lot of the background textures are very low res. I’m thinking that’s because the ps4 is really not able to keep up. When FF7R comes out on pc then if it’s a good port we can see what this game was supposed to look like. If it all looks as good as those character models do then it’s gonna be a sick looking game for sure.

Missions - FF7R is one of the best-looking games, a console graphics king contender, and rivals Advent Children CGI quality.

Towns - The graphical quality takes a dip, due to background texture loading issues and some not-so-detailed NPCs.

Same and I had to turn off my brain when it comes to performance issues despite I know its their. The game is just so awesome, it ain't perfect but FF7 Remake is truly a fun game.

The reason why is because you high end PC guys are a very small minority in the worlds of gaming. A large majority of gamers are console and handheld users.

And also because people hate elitists who hate on and stick their noses up at just about everything and pixel count.

i do agree the texture is of environment is ps3 like. however the character model is amazing and gameplay is topnotch. i havent got much nostalgia feeling yet. i feel its way different game from the original.

The hair-do uses 75% of the POWAH of the PS4.

You really went out of your way to find some bad pics. The game is inconsistent and it's only flaw honestly are the textures...but at times it looks incredible.

Funny how you threw in the word "comparable" in to the mix, because you know the only way your statement rings true is to add those false parameters.

Players are players, whether they are on base systems or handhelds. The only ones who fuss over tech are the few high end PC gamers. Again, a very small minority.

Why shouldn't I? There are more PCs out there that are powerful than PS4, X1, Pro or X. That hasn't change and will not change. You guys needed to be given a taste of reality because you all pretend that you have Pro/X or even absurd claims of imaginary XSX/PS5. If they are small minority than Console gamers are just a myth.

When you say there are more people playing games with stronger hardware than all of the PS4, PS4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Switch, Switch Lite, 3DS and Vita user bases combined, and that all of those players are overly concerned with hardware tech, res and specs in all these console games, I have to question your sources and bearing on reality in general.

That what is a bug? I haven't had any issues on my PS4 Pro.

A large majority of gamers are actually mobile and PC users. Unless by "handheld" you're including mobile devices.

But you're right to say that high-end PC users are a small minority of gamers. The vast majority of PC gamers don't have high-end rigs.

Graphics are not everything to me, but that is pretty bad. Are those screenshots par for the course, or just some exceptionally bad ones?

@mrbojangles25: NPCs that aren't the main set do not get a lot of details. There are also a lot of ran random shit textures throughout, but overall it looks awesome
