Kind of like how I get TESO from Bethesda...oh wait, that didn't break Steam, either. But I guess initially offering it via their in-house launcher wasn't good enough, because it came to Steam eventually anyway.
lol, you salty mother frackers. I don't care how many times you read "The Secret", just because you think and wish something often enough doesn't will it into existence (or out of existence). Steam is here to stay, with or without any Bethesda titles, let alone Fallout 76.
Just kind of wondering why so many of you hate Steam and want it to go down. According to most of you, PC doesn't count in system wars because it's not part of "the big three" lol.

Bethesda are only hurting themselves by doing this. Their games continue to sell well on Steam for years and years, while the console versions have long since been forgotten about. Skyrim still sells very well on Steam even now, and it's six years old.
By doing this they've ensured the PC version will fail. They've also basically ended any chance for this game to continue making any money after about a year or so. It's their choice. But this is an extremely stupid business decision that will probably cost them a few hundred million dollars.
its likely a console focused title anyway
It's going to be Destiny: Fallout Edition.
First they'll say it is to control cheaters, then comes the monetizing of modifications. Though mods on The Elder Scrolls Online are still free, so there's still hope.

@tryit: Not overrated, but Bethesda isn't trying anymore with the series as it is.
Yeah, Fallout 4 had no soul. I know that sounds lame, but when I played it I just felt "meh" about it.
I still enjoy Fallout well enough to hope for the best in this title, but I don't know the signs don't look good...
