There are those that don't dig it, and then there's those that do.
The people that haven't played it, care more for all the negative stuff being said, because negativity is fun. So, yeah, you see a lot of negativity towards this.

People do love to hate.
I hate all 3 of you.
@blue_hazy_basic: Proof right here.
Unbelievable. Un-fudging-believable.
But I love doing it :)
there was a study done a while back saying that gamers tend to fall in line with reviews when it comes to games, so if they give it bad reviews they'll tend to complain more about the game, and if they give it good reviews most people will follow the same line of praise, and the reason for this is simple...
It's fun, but it's no Halo. I wanted it to be just as good, but as a whole it falls way behind the quality of their Halo series. The Gameplay, sound and graphics are both wonderful, but the abysmal story, whacky leveling system, limited chat for meeting strangers and needlessly obtuse restrictions on Raids were surprisingly poorly integrated based on their studios lineage. I doubt if the decline in quality has anything to do with their split from Microsoft, but it seems they are far more fallible than I'd estimated.
I'm enjoying the game, but I really starting worrying when they said 1) you would have to have 5 friends to play the raids, 2) you can't chat with strangers without partying up (putting up barriers for meeting new friends,) and 3) the real game begins with the raiding. I don't know about you, but I don't have 5 real world friends with new gen consoles, and even if I did, the odds that they would all own Destiny AND all want to party up for a raid at the exact same day and time sounds about as difficult as coordinating the Normandy beach landing. I get what they were going for, but they are just asking too much I feel. Maybe this sort of thing is do-able when you are still young, but as a married adult with responsibilities whose friends have different schedules it's just bonkers.
I also really don't care at all for the PvP. I've had trips to the dentist that were more entertaining. Then again, I'm typically not very interested in competitive multiplayer, but I think it compares disfavorably to Halo in almost every respect.
I don't hate it, I just don't like how it was put together. I recently beat the game and I have no idea what the story was about. I wish instead of a "space ship" menu, you could just pick the planet then that's when it should show your ship "loading screen" when you launch games. I wish there were bigger enemies like that huge spider thing in Halo. I wish your Ghost could activate things without you hitting X all the time. Guilty Spark from Halo was smarter than Ghost lol. They should fix matchmaking, not even sure if they have that, because PvP could get very unbalanced. I wish you could substitute the D-pad for items like ammo and health, instead of PS Home emotes. Other than these, I'm still enjoying the game. I'm trying to unlock all Legendary items and I still need to find all the hidden chests and dead Ghosts.
they made a 8 min video to say review scores doesnt matter, wow
bought and paid for by activision
I like Destiny.
Certainly I rate it higher than the exclusive turds on a certain 80s VCR.
I'd rather get the Master Chief Collection to be honest. Might as well relive the past glory than settle for the present hum drum of destiny.
I'm really enjoying Destiny. I've got plenty of friends playing it so I almost always have a buddy to play with. I'm also taking my time with it instead of rushing like so many gamers do these days. I'm not sure what the point of doing speed runs is on your first play through... and don't tell me that those getting to level 20 in two days didn't speed run. It's an at least 15 hour game. I feel sorry for you if you're spending 8 hours a day playing, but to each their own.
Nah, I like it. Its a good game just... disappointing. Its definitely NOT a 6/10 so VanOrd can svck my hairy balls :P

Sounds to me like another underrated masterpiece.
I'm enjoying it. It's the first game that I'm even considering getting a PS4 for. Say what you want about the game, but it's controls are tight as hell. It has it's faults and I completely understand why people are hating on it, but at the moment, I'm having quite a bit of fun the gunplay is freaking rock solid..
no. im playing it daily and enjoying my time. what i want is more strikes and higher level strikes. Doing the same six at lev24 is getting too easy and stale. gimme lev28 with matchmaking and great rewards (i swear if i see another lev16 blue on a lev24+ strike i will...............)
Just how much damage control is this game going to get, multiple sources covering this exact same topic. That activision pull is deep.
Or you know, the game just isn't that good.
Fucking bungie fanboys are reaching so hard, including the 2 neckbeards in that video.
^ It's funny how scores were always fine before this fiasco. Zelda/Mario/Killzone flop? Fine. The fans deal with it.
Bungie fans, just stop. Deal with it like everyone else. The game isn't 80%+ worthy.
I like Destiny.

Destiny will be evolving with time while Rehash Collection is going nowhere.

MEH by the time it evolves into anything worth playing no one will care anymore.

So what, I'm supposed to stop enjoying the game because Kevin V gave it a 6? That's just massively stupid. Somebody go tell all those people playing it that it's so bad they need to stop playing the game.

That really depends if Bungie accept the criticism and learn from their mistakes or keep releasing hollow expansions with no backbone. I mean, they have the money, now expand your world with more than merchants in the Tower and brainless ai on a 10sec respawn. This could become what Borderlands always wanted to be, a game fun and with stuff to do even after 1y of playing.

No one said stop enjoying it or stop playing it. Thats you, (and the people in the video) putting words in our mouths.
We're just saying the game bombed critically. Which it did. Just like zelda, ff, killzone, knack, etc.
I just find it funny that bungie fans suddenly don't care about scores, but when it was killzone "LOLOL FLOP!11".

Then why did you point at my post and ramble on about "scores being fine" etc? Because I don't give a floppy **** about review scores, never have. I don't mind discussing them on places like this, but we all know they're just opinions.
GT gave it a 8.0 while GS gave it a 6.0. After a lot of play time I'd give it a 7.0.
Since the very first footage I saw of the game it looked boring as heck. It's really nice window dressing on a boring as hell game. Bosses that take forever to whittle down, few players per instance, few enemies on screen at once, tedious monotonous grind. Of course the game sucks, I am surprised it's getting 77% average, literally nothing I've seen of the game looks fun at all. Freaking marketing machine fooled a few million people, welcome to the modern day of over promising and under delivering. Remember the good old days when a game like Link to the Past of Final Fantasy 7 would seemingly come out of nowhere as one of the best games ever? Developers don't care about quality, they care about money and fancy graphics with shallow gameplay and cutting edge marketing is the name of the game.
Hate Destiny? No, I rarely hate a game, it is even rare that I dislike a game. Destiny is a game I am indifferent over.
I don't have the game though, so my view on it is distorted by the beta and reviews.
I would state that Destiny have a good framework, good basi mechanics, but Bungie utterly failed with content, if that makes sense? If they did it in favor of a slow steram of DLC and expansion packs is near unforgivable. If it simply was a stumble out of the games for reasons unknown that they fix fast, then I have no problem at all against it.
