Welp, another one bites the dust.

Damn... Dead Space was pretty good and I actually liked Dante's Inferno aswell... sad news but coming from EA, it was bound to happen sooner or later. BioWare will be next if Anthem flops

but the guys that made that singleplayer third person star wars game, that could really turn into something good, get shut down ?

Also, while people are lamenting their closure, the last game they made was Battlefield Hardline in 2015, and before that was Dead Space 3 in 2013. Both of which were probably the least well received major entries in their respective series

Oh well, at least I'm replaying the Dead Space Trilogy on Origin so I guess this is me saying goodbye to Visceral Games.

to be fair, EA kinda forced the studio to make DS3 a co-op game and Hardline when this is clearly not what the studio wanted to do

so, EA forced them to make games that didn't play to the studios strengths, then dismantled the studio when the results weren't great.

Was I the only one who thought dead space was rubbish? Go here, then here and then keep going back and forward over and over. Bleah.

More than anything it's the premise I was looking forward to. I'm playing the fighter missions in Battlefront and I'm thinking: this could work way better in a singleplayer game.

I just really wanted a third person action game that's set in Star Wars with a singleplayer focus... and Visceral was making that.

Damn it.....Im a huge Dead Space fan, but I never really expected a Dead Space 4 anyways. I still remember how the main producer of Dead Space left EA following the release of BF Hardline, I knew from that point we would probably never see Dead Space because there needs to be someone in the company rooting for it, and the main guy was gone. Oh well. I definitely loved Prey and that is very close to the Dead Space experience, looking forward to replaying it on the XOneX.

EA had 3 major Star Wars projects in the works (Battlefront 2, the Respawn thing and the Visceral thing)

Clearly:

• Battlefront I was sold as a shell of a game for full price and with obligatory season pass
• Battlefront II is a store to sell lootboxes to people
• Visceral was making a singleplayer focussed Star Wars game but gets shut down

We're what ? 3-4 years in the license and we have so far seen zero singleplayer focussed Star Wars games thank to EA.

I'm done with online Star Wars games after playing the Battlefront II beta.

the quality of Titanfall 2's campaign gives me hope but I will remain skeptical until its out at this point

I never thought Battlefront II could be screwed up. It's such a simple premise: Make a better game than the first one.

But then I played the BETA.

This is really sad and kind of annoying. I'm curious to see what's happening with their staff, I have a friend who worked at Visceral, I hope he's being relocated to a new office or position within EA, though that might not be a safe bet.

Visceral games was formerly known as EA Redwood Shores, so YES! They owned them.

I know they own them, they wouldn't be shutting them down if they didn't own them. But the meme about EA killing studios is about them buying studios and then shutting them down

Dead space was poor mans third person system shock. and hardline was just absolutely terrible arrest simulator.

visceral were never good to begin with.

Titanfall 2 SP was good and as a result im fear that EA might kill respawn too.

It was a good game in it's time. Basically RE4 in space.

As often happens, the sequels offered diminishing returns.

I felt that there is something wrong with Visceral's Project months ago.(I made a forum about it at that time but No one believed me)

it does, people before release were dissapointed by beta just like it happen with doom. but they dont know its SP game so they didnot bought it. EA false marketing ruined it and make it commercial faliure.

TF2 has great SP and bad MP.

my friend, a good MP game is one that is only focus on multiplayer. liek counter strike, Quake, red orchestra, Team frotress etc.

even games like original COD have better SP campaigns than its MP that is popular for.

yes i rarely play MP. because i couldnot play MP game before i got bored unless im playing it with my friends.
