Ouch that hurt, poor Duke.

That's how I feel. GS has given some horrible games at least a 5 and even thats rare. Id give'em the benefit of the doubt for it being such a major part in gaming culture but still what do you expect?I don't even really like Duke Nukem but a 3.0? Please...

Honestly I'm not surprised by all the low scores. The game was in development for like 10 years, and it really wasn't until last year that any real "progress" was made towards development.
This score seems ridiculous.
The game has flaws i'm sure...but I doubt they're bad enough to warrant a 3...it sounds like a 6 would've been more appropriate.
I just got through playing it for about 4 hours and think all these bottom of the barrel scores are absolute jokes. But hey, that is just my opinion. The only thing really dated in my view are the animations and physics. As far as the visuals, it is on par with a lot of early gen stuff in a lot of areas and if you can't handle visuals like that, then I don't know what to tell you.
As far as how it plays, well it runs and plays fine on the PS3. My only complaint and I mean only complaint is the 45 second loading times. Other than that, it is good old strafe and shoot gameplay with boss battles that can kill you in a couple of shots. No aim assist or any of the like we see these days. Hell, even regular goons like Pig Cops can take you out in a couple of hits, so the regenerating health is hardly a complaint in that regard.
It is just old school, entertaining because of the variety and simply fun to play. Sections like being mini Duke and driving around in a RC truck are both hilarious and fun. The interactivity with the world is nothing new, but it is still neat all the same. I went in with the lowest possible expectations, but it ended up being a fun as hell game. It is certainly better than a lot of other crap shooters I have played this gen like Blacksite Area 51. Hell, I am even having more fun with it than I would if I were playing the latest military shooter rehash, that's for sure. Try it before you hate it and I'll leave it at that. You might be surprised.

Yeah, I saw that. Crazy. :PIs it odd that I want to play this game even more now that everyone hates it? :]Stevo_the_gamerNot really. :P

I am telling you, it is not that bad. In fact, I think it is great for what it is beyond some dated animations and physics. If you love old school shooters with a challenge, tough boss battles and Duke's in your face lewd humor then chances are you will love the game. That is as simple and straight forward as I can put it.

[QUOTE="DarkLink77"]Ew, I know. He likes Fallout 3. IronBassDon't forget you're still using that DNF sig bro :P Don't have the game, though. I just like the Duke's cocky attitude. I think it adds to my posts. Hence the sig and avy. :P
Ew, I know, how can someone like one of the greatest games of this generation? :3 [QUOTE="IronBass"][QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]Is it odd that I want to play this game even more now that everyone hates it? :]DarkLink77Considering your game taste... not at all. ;Plol. Problem, Steven? :o
Heavy Rain > Crysis btw :]
Why do people keep saying its "old school". The game is heavily scripted, linear, two weapon limit, and has regenerating health. It would appear the game took the worst aspects of a modern shooter and there is nothing old school about it.
Freaking IGN overscoring again.. gosh.
No but seriously this is shocking. I mean this is a game I have waited quite awhile for and I knew it wouldn't be great by any means, but I atleast thought it would be decent enough to enjoy. From the sounds of it it is a complete mess.
However think it should atleast be a 5.0.. I mean there is no way in hell Terminator Salvation. Let me re-say that: TERMINATOR SALVATION is better then Duke Nukem Forever. I mean seriously if anyone has every played that game you'd know it is a repetitive peice of crap with nothing exciting or fun at all. Just a blah mess.
This game needs to b reviewd as a 19999 game, no more to say, it is unfair to have high standards for something tah twas gonna release 12 years ago.
I just watched the trailer Kevin posted in his review. If the game really is as boring as it looks, then it deserves that score.
The game is being released in 2011. No point pretending it isn't.This game needs to b reviewd as a 19999 game, no more to say, it is unfair to have high standards for something tah twas gonna release 12 years ago.

Biggest flop of all time? No; a flop anyhow? Yes. I lol'd when I saw the scoreSLS97How is it NOT the biggest flop of all time? The game was announced in freaking 1997 and finally comes out in 2011 to horrible reviews. If that's not a mega flop then I don't know what is. What was a bigger flop than this??
