Some games look much darker on the Xbox 360, and the PS3 is brighter at times. The Wii is in between. Which is better and is it only for certain genres?

I don't like dark games. It's one reason why I didn't buy The Darkness.

It doesn't matter. Dark can be boring, but, after playing super mario sunshine, light can be boring as well.

dark games (made to look dark) hide detail and other things, such as Killzone or Gears

however, more colorful games are easier on the eye, and i like them better, such as Halo 3 or Super Mario

On occasion I get annoyed about a game being too dark. I don't think I ever remember being annoyed by a game being too bright. The darkest I like my games to be is like Resident Evil 4. I don't get why some game designers think it's a good idea to spend all this time on intricate details and such and then make the game so dark that you can't see them.

One thing that I don't like is when game are too bland in their color palette (especially with grays and browns). I want something vibrant with lush colors. This usually happens when games are trying to be realistic, but being realistic doesn't mean to look boring. If you're doing a city, throw in some bill-boards, give the peoples clothes some color, make it autumn so the trees can have some colors instead of some repeated dark shade of green.

I think that the brightness of the graphics just add to the mood of the game, for example just about every horror game to my knowledge has had darker graphics.

I personally think that bright coloured games are a lot more interesting...but I am not surprised that so many games are going for the look at me we have only 1 colour and that is grey approach...it sucks tbh.

I don't care if a game is dark or bright as long as it's a good game.

It depends on the story the developers are trying to convey...
