If yes what eSports do you watch? I sometimes watch CSGO eSports not really anything else.

I checked out some of the Halo championship because I really suck. I try to see what they do that I am seemingly unable to. Gears as well.
Good lord, no. Why would I do that?
Umm, no.
PC games get extremely competitive and have very high skill requirements. It's like how people watch Football instead of actually going out and playing it.
Normally, if I watch anything gaming related, it's usually challenge/speed runs and charity streams. GamesDoneQuick was great.
As for eSports, I've watched both seasons of the Gears of War UE eSports league, and I always try to catch Smash Bros when EVO is on. Outside of that though, I've caught one of two matches of several other games and have been put off. I think I'd be willing to watch more eSports if the so called "pro" gamers didn't act like whiny children. I know it's not all of them, but it's still far too many, and they ruin the whole thing, they are the reason why it's still confined to places like Twitch.

Not really, you don't get to see any blood spilled or anybody getting hurt! Big difference!
I do sometimes, but usually for games I'm playing, such as Halo 5 and the recent championship they had. I usually watch in an attempt to step up my game, it's not unlike with fighting games where this is a must.
Any Street Fighter veteran, unless your nickname is "The Beast", will tell you that watching other people(usually much better than you) play is instrumental in learning new techniques and improving your own game.
The same can apply to other genres, if you have that competitive drive, you'll have the desire to watch pros to learn new tricks.

correct..it can be very informative to sit back and watch how people play on a pro level.

That's fine....I get it.
i guess my response was more sarcasm due to no games I want to watch rather than esports in general.
People like to use the whole "it's like when people watch football instead of going out and playing it" argument when they try to promote e-sports. There's a major issue with that though. I can't just go out and play an organized, competitive game of football on a whim. It takes organization, commitment by a good many people and a good amount of time too. Whereas I can simply just boot up a video game and go ahead and play. Play however long I want.
Having said that, I have watched pros play while giving tips or just play in general when I'm trying to get better at the game I'm playing. This is normally done while I am away from my gaming apparatus. Like on break at work or in transit somewhere on a bus.
I'll never understand just watching 2 or 3 plus hours of someone else playing a game I can simply play right at the same time. I don't think E-Sports gets huge main stream, but I've been wrong before. We'll see.
yeah I watch quite a bit of Street fighter tournaments and attend local tournaments myself. It's great fun.
Never have, why would anyone want to watch other people having fun instead of having fun themselves.
I don't get the why watch other people play video games people. Why watch anyone do anything? You watch what you find compelling. Whether it's sports, esports, comdedies, movies whatever. If you find the programming compelling you watch. Not everyone find the same thing compelling.
I watch neither e-sport nor normal sport, if I want to enjoy a video game or football match, I just do it myself.
@cohmiracleman: There's still a difference between playing a competitive game yourself and watching people play it on a professional level. These pros can do things the other 99% of the playerbase can't do, and it can be pretty exciting to watch if you like the game. I"m not "just watching someone play" , I'm watching the best players in the world play. Players who devote just as much time and effort into their game as professional athletes.
