This. If there is plenty of supply, there is no way the Switch is going to outsell the PS5 or even the Series X.

But with constrained supply there is a very good chance the Switch will be the top seller. That thing is super hot right now/lately.

If Sony makes a lot of PS5s, enough for all who want one at launch. I can't see how the Switch would outsell it, because a lot of people who wanted a Switch already own one.

Normally, with limited quantities of a console launch, I would say it would almost be expected that an existing console would outsell a new console.

However, with COVID depleting Nintendo's Switch supply, I'm not sure. I think the Series X, PS5, and Switch will sell every unit available this holiday season. Whoever sells more will depend on which company can produce the most consoles.
