With the massive backlog I and everyone seem to have, I find it hard to think about going back to play a game I’ve already beaten. I do most of my gaming on the weekend so I’m limited to what time I have as it is. What about you, SW? How much of your time do you spend playing old games?

Oh yeah. Just replayed FF7, got partway through 8 before Xenoblade 2 released. The classics will always be that.

Sometimes if I'm in the mood to replay a certain game. Like I replayed some of Lollipop Chainsaw a few nights ago, because I never get tired of playing through that and I always have a blast.

Absolutely. I don't play that Jim Ryan bullshit about "nobody wants to play old games" but then you gonna sell crash bandicoot and medievil remastered LOL

I watch classic films and play classic games again when I feel like it. Been mixing MGR into my PUBG, Cuphead and BOTW recently.

Yes.. usually games kept are the ones I enjoy..usually trade/sell the ones I didn't enjoy. Usually replay old games if I have completed a new game & waiting for the next new game to come. :P

Yeah, I have a rotation of games that I replay annually. None of them are particularly long, so it's easy for me to jump back in.

Rarely. The only games I usually replay are those that I played as a kid but couldn't fully appreciate then.

Of course. I'm not nearly open-minded enough to always play new games. Most of them suck and can't hold my attention. I'd rather play games I actually like, even if I already have.

I probably spend more time replaying old games than I spend on new games since the type of games that I most enjoy are kind of rare in the modern era.

@SolidGame_basic: Holds no interest for me. GoW I'm hoping wins me over fully, Days Gone definitely. No interest in SotC or Medievil remasters. I have the HD version of SotC on PS3. I'm good with that.

I'm currently trying to start a new Skyrim playthrough (granted, it's the SE version, but otherwise same old Skyrim), aren't I?

Also, my laptop isn't exactly a beast. Old games like UT2K4 and Neverwinter Nights are therefore a given.

I just replayed Mafia 2 for the 3rd time..didn't complete it of course but just wanted to play it for a few hours. Yesterday I downloaded LA noire and GTA 5 for a replay...When I'll actually get around to play them is another question. I rarely complete replays but they are good for some hours of enjoyment again.

I enjoy replaying old games more then playing new ones most of the time this generation we are in is a huge massive disappointment at least for me. I can actually see myself quitting gaming in the future if this shit doesn't get better I'm tired of these half ass games and sequels, remakes, greedy publishers ect.. no new innovation especially when it comes to AAA gaming these days. VR is the only thing about this generation that makes it special. I'm looking much more forward to the next gen headsets more then anything else that's where I see the most innovation coming. But yeah old games keep me gaming new games are mostly trash.

I barely have the time to play my new games let alone games I’ve already played years ago.

That being said I’ve spent quite a bit of time on my SNES and NES classics playing with my wife. She can’t stand modern games as she doesn’t understand the 2 thumbsticks.

Yes. If the game is good enough and doesn't have any worthy sequel in this generation.(Like original Battlefront 2)

All the time. I just keep replaying Goldeneye N64 only because it's one of a kind game and even Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic from time to time and my only excuse is because Disney doesn't even know what it wants to take Star Wars nowadays.

All the time. Great games are great games long after original release.

But I suppose it depends on what system you play on since many Movie games are only good for one play through..... if even that. :P

This is an individual experience:

I have a friend that felt the same and ended up selling like 70% of his game collection on ebay...

... to this day he still says its was the biggest mistake in his life

Not trying to demotivate you or anything but I believe people sometimes make bad decisions in a matter of seconds without much thought. I personaly did sell a couple of PS2 and PS3 games wich I now regret and now I'm having a hard time recovering them at reasonable prices...

I think the only one that i replayed truly was COD4. That slow-mo made me feel like Neo. Also Super Mario World.

Other than that I do play Black Ops multiplayer sometimes and RDR just to get ready for the next Red Dead game.

I have to replay Far Cry 3's SP campaign because Uplay lost my save games, which in turn, disabled Reset Outpost mode. Not a big problem though. I'm a few missions shy from finishing the game and getting Reset Outpost back.

Once I get Reset Outpost back, I'll make sure to locally back up my save games so I don't lose them again.

I played Far Cry 3's Reset Outpost mode almost daily from 2012 through 2014. I still have long binges with it. The only reason why I quit playing it daily is because I switched to Far Cry 4's Reset Outpost mode. ;)

Yes, once in a while do end up playing older games I already beat, mostly because I had a lot of fun and want to replay them, and I do this despite having a massive backlog.

Very rarely because I'm always buying games and increasing my backlog. I am about to replay FFXII and Red Dead Redemption, though. Also wish I could play some oldies like Vectorman, Dark Cloud, and Brave Fencer Musashi too

I have retro days occasionally. I've still got my Sega Game Gear, Genesis and Dreamcast. I also have 50 PS1 games and about 40 PS2 games that I go back to sometimes.

Gaming is also a much cheaper hobby if you play the games you already own :P

Only my favourite games eg: GTA San Andreas (14 times) FF10 (5 times) etc. Other games get 1 playthrough and join the collection
