Do we still care about Fallout?

Hello friends,

So fallout 76 just released and got overwhelmingly negative response from fans. but thats not all. fallout 4 released in 2015 also had mixed response from fans that some liked and some hated. even fallout 3 was hated by original fallout 2 fans.

So is fallout 76 is final nail in coffin for bethesda?

on other hand we are getting game that will put fallout series to shame. even fallout 3 was poor mans STALKER so imagine how Metro exodus will own fallout 76. which many claim as worst in series.

so friends, is fallout series still matters? do people still cares?

Also, for all the crap Fallout 3 was guilty of, it was still a better game than the glitchfest that Shadow of Chernobyl was. FO3 didn't piss me off so many times like ShoC did. I have to specify ShoC because it's your favorite. Plus, you never mention the other games in the STALKER series.

STALKER isn't one game. It's a series of games and they behave quite differently from one another.

Until Bethesda announces Fallout 5, I'll let you know how I feel.

@ghosts4ever: FO76 release will place zero nails in any coffin. Its a mediocre MP spinoff of a strong IP. It is apparent that the majority of Bethesda fans are in with SP games and will gladly buy the NEXT ES, FO, or any other single player project.

This was an interesting project that is not starting off as well as they would like. Bethesda won't be abandoning this game anytime soon and will still release single player games in the future.

Yep, I still care about Fallout even if I don’t get around to playing Fallout 76. I had a great time with Fallout 4.

fallout 3 was also full of bugs. and only disc version of SOC was buggy. steam version wish patch is masterpiece.

I mention SOC most because its by far most memorable in series. didnot liked clear sky and COP was great as well but too of slow start.

Wasteland took over

Rage 2 wasteland will be better.

infact Rage 2 is better fallout by Bethesda than Fallout.

I loved fallout 3, new vegas and fo4, but I don't know I will be buying this one, I'm not really into mmo's , allthough the mmo version of elders scrolls wasn't bad at all.

I still have fallout 4 to finish and I'm trying to do it in vr, but boy do I need those varifocals, and a lot more fitness, ouch my calves.

I don't care about Fallout. I just have zero interest in the franchise. Played Fallout 4 and couldn't get into it. No biggie really.

I only played (Steam) Fallout 3 and (GoG) New Vegas last year after finishing Fallout 4. Not once did they have a hiccup. In fact, my only gripe was the butt-ugly graphics in both games.

I also played (GoG) Shadow of Chernobyl last year. I played it vanilla and after all these years, it still has glitches. It's not just technical issues. But, it looks like there were problems in the code itself. An example are essential NPCs dying for no reason.

Like here. This is Col. Petrenko who is the Duty Trader at Rostok. He shouldn't die because he's a major NPC. Plus, he rarely leaves his post. I don't know how he ended up dead in another building. But, now, I couldn't buy anything from Duty because the trading post is empty. Sucks. Sucks. Sucks. ;)

Even if the game is running fine, I got bombarded with automatically assigned side missions. No option to refuse them, making my PDA very cluttered.

Costly to me because he was my main source for 9x39 mm ammo until I got to Yantar.

Anyway, I never had similar problems with the Fallout games.

I didn't buy 4, it looked more like a straight FPS,and apparently that's what it is.

There's a terrific game called "UnderRail" released a couple of years back, went completely under the radar, if you want something closer to what Fallout was about, I highly recommend picking it up. It's terrific, cheap and run on anything. Way more fun than Fallout 3/Wasteland 2

fallout is bad FPS. calling it FPS is an insult to FPS. neither its praise for FPS mechanics.

I'm having a lot of fun with Fallout 76 but I do absolutely maintain that Bethesda just don't understand Fallout.

Nope. The VATS RPG builds were the most powerful for both melee and ranged.

The real time combat for fps/melee was extremely bad, yet again.

Game still stank.

I've never cared for it....... Always prefered STALKER over it.

I am in a sort of strange situation with both the Bethesda Fallout and STALKER games because I disliked both franchises during their original releases (butt-ugly, glitchy). Yet, years later and here I am with all the games in each franchise installed on my computers. I played and finished all of them within the last two years.

I liked FO4 the best among the three Bethesda FO games. My trend is to like the later games. So, I am looking forward to FO5.

I'm sure most people here know FO76 is merely a MP-focused spinoff. Better to have a separate MP game than tack on MP to a SP game.

Did I answer this thread before? Anyways, nobody in the gamerverse cares about fallout 76. It's a broken mess and stop with all the fallout 76 threads. It's a dumpster fire and should be never been in development. Bethesada made a huge mistake.

InXile has stated they will keep all backer promises per their W3 Fig crowd-funding campaign.

Beyond that who knows if it will be a good/bad thing in the long run. W3 looks awesome though.

After Fallout 3, when it just became post-apocalyptic Elder Scrolls with guns, the series became "meh" with me. New Vegas briefly made it interesting again, but the more I saw of Fallout 4, the less impressed I became.

I have no interest in Fallout 76.

Of course people still care about Fallout. Everyone's asking for a SP Fallout game instead of 76. Besides, it's going to take more than 10 years to see a new Fallout game from Bethesda. A large enough period of time for people to crave another adventure in the wasteland.

I have a feeling that Fallout 4 is about the best Bethesda can do with a Fallout. And I find Fallout 4 a pretty boring and lazy game. Me getting anymore Fallout games from Bethesda is unlikely, unless they feel like improving the series, which they probably don't feel like they need to do. People will buy it in droves anyway, except people like me who likes to research games before buying.

fallout 4 is stand out for adding things like settlements, bringing mods to consoles and things like that, the main quest is forgettable with few standout NPC's or story points in general, the FPS mechanics are poor compared to other titles but can largely be avoided through the use of VATS.

Fallout 76 uses a lot of the same assets from 4, the vats implementation is awful imo, and any attempt at a compelling main quest or NPC's has been removed in the hope that player driven narrative steps in to replace it, the game itself is unstable in many places (even for a BGS game) and generally is not worth putting any money into, at a lower price point or if someone buys the game for you it's probably worth playing other than that very skippable.

And it begins.

I've never played a game in the series. Really hoping for that fallout 3 on switch.

That said, lots of people are enjoying 76. It's fine. It's a spinoff. People need to relax.

Fallout 76 is a dream come true... gone with all the bullshit I never cared for in these games. This is boiled down to pure exploration and ambiance... executed perfectly.

I've been waiting on this UnderRail Expedition expansion to dig in actually. I believe it adds a lot of content mid game, not at the end, that's why.

Fallout 3 was bad version of Stalker.

and Metro Exodus will be a game that will own every fallout.
