Like majority of Switch owners, we just let the console rotting somewhere in the box, cubboard, back of the TV or entertainment set forgotten about it because there is much better consoles and PC out there to play with. But I decides to give this underwhelming console another try and uses it to its strength, portable play during my weekend escape and it was horrible. How you switch owners even play with those screen glare in a well lit room?? Not even directly under the sun but in a bright, well lit room. Absolutely horrible experience, why make it portable when it cannot even be used effectively in normal situations sigh...

Switch is better than any Playstation system to date. It has better games as well. Games for real gamers, not techies and movie fans.

Screen glare is a problem for anyone dumb enough to try to look at a screen in the full sunlight.

Haven’t taken mine outside yet but haven’t had any issues with screen glare indoors myself. 🤷‍♂️

Perhaps you should just sell or get rid of yours, you obviously don’t like it. 😅

I don't even own a Switch and im betting a LOT of Switch owners don't take them outside of the house.

I mean i drive everywhere, to work, pick the kids up from school, to do the shopping etc, i can only think of hipsters in big cities playing it while they ride the bus to work lol.

Nope. Mine has remained docked about 99% of the time, and I don't game outside. Might try it in the summer with a beer, and sitting out on my balcony.

The big version is too heavy for long portable use and have a laughable battery life. Never seen people actually use the Switch Lite anywhere but its portable enough.

TC lives to make anti Nintendo posts yet still claims to occasionally play it just to make more anti Nintendo posts. Fast forward 5 years and that is all you will get from TC. Yawn.

If you angle it correctly, I believe you can see things well enough unless everything around you is super reflective and the noon is so bright.

It would be nice if the next upgrade or switch 2 have better anti-glare screen or just have the display much brighter.

I don’t game on the go or outdoors. Although I’d like to try it,also hoping for Sony to re-release a updated Vita or a new handheld? I wish Microsoft would get into the handheld market!!!

My Switch never leaves the dock. I tried it once. Details are too small (good luck following the action in smash), the joycons suck bloody donkey balls, having to reach OVER the right thumbstick to hit a face button rather than pivoting your thumb as you should. As far as "handheld gaming" goes, clipping a phone holder onto my PS4 controller is 200x better.

I wish that as a counterpart to the lite which is handheld only, they made a version that was TV only. Remove the screen, dock, battery, joycons, and pair it with a pro controller. When you think about it, it's just a Wii-U with a console built into the tablet controller that nobody liked using either.

I remember growing up some kids would play their gameboy advances outside at recess, and I don’t know how they saw anything with the glare from the sun. I’m surprised they haven’t improved much since those days. I remember the PSP wasn’t too great in the outdoors either but it was still ahead of its time as far as handheld gaming.

@sakaixx: Which is why I suggested that you get rid of it because it’s obvious that you don’t like it. Just because you have a Switch doesn’t mean that you don’t troll about it. The OP is clearly bait and you’ve openly said before that you like to troll the sheep. You trying to feign innocence now is laughable at best. 😅

I remember the GBC and GBA, which along with the Sega Game Gear were the only handhelds I had. And I remember the few times I've attempted to play either in sunlight having to squint and look hard to try to make out what was going on, or looking for some shade. Even smart phones today can have the issue.

I think its a waste of money, and then theres the Mario/Zelda/Pokemon that Nintendo whore out with every system.

I haven't actually taken or played mine out in public but I'll transport it from house to house when I want to. Mainly just play in handheld mode too. Screen glare has been a problem when I'm sitting directly near a window, but it's not too bad.

why would the switch need to post on SW when i have smart phone with me at all times that can? Pointless like the vita web browser.

I can't game on cell phone only thing I can game on is a tablet for ios/android. Cell phone screen is way too small to game on period and no physical buttons digital buttons just don't work for traditional games trust me i've tried to play all types of snes games on cell phones it won't work an i tried very very hard if I can't do it its impossible and cell phones are fucked for traditional games thats the reality.

If I had a Switch I think it would get the most use whilst I'm sitting on the can pinching a loaf. lol :P

For the first time, I'm on-board with ProtossRushX. I too take my Switch outside when I'm riding the shuttle bus to work (hardly drive to work nowadays) and the spare time while playing really helps out. I also sometimes play it on my lunch break too. This whole "Switch owners don't take them outside of the house" is a bold statement and I do see few Switch owners play their games outside these days but it all depends where you live.

The reason why I'm even praising the Switch and loving it is the portability in the first place and if it wasn't for that, I wouldn't bother another Nintendo console as I'm more focusing just gaming on my PC.

The Switch main thing over the others is that the system is on-the-go. You read this thread and so many others on Reddit, and most don't bring it outside or its permanently docked. Funny stuff, really.

Annoyingly some games that I actually wants to play is from 3rd party exclusives or delayed release on other platform and I can't wait.

More annoyingly those game releases is rare so most of the time the Switch is unused.
