Beta testing is when the product is already finished and you start testing for bugs and little annoyances to squash before release. What you see in a beta is 99% what you'll get as the finished product.

@scea: Gears of War 4 saw drastic changes when it showed its single player mode from the multiplayer beta which runs at 60fps. Single player runs at 30fps. GOW4 multiplayer on Xbox is still ugly as sin.

But the thing is, racing sim games are all about performance, with the aim to have a solid 60fps. I would imagine with gears, it's 'let's get the gameplay right then make it look nice'. With this I imagine you have to have everything going at the same time. Any changes to gameplay or graphics can effect performance at different parts of the race I think.

@Juub1990: I said this a LONG time ago. I'm sure its been updated some since last E3 but it literally looked like a PS3 game on the E7 show floor.

Not to mention GTSport isnt competing with FH its competing with Forza 7, which will completely outclass it.

GTSport is a good try, but they have literally been out of the game too long. It lacks so much compared to Forza. Cars, customization, AI, sound, the list goes on and on. And with the MS VR headset coming next year, GTs one big selling point of being VR wont be a factor either.

Sorry cows. PS4 might be kicking Xbox around on a lot of fronts, but racing isnt one of them.

I think they will finally retire the GT franchise after this game comes out.

I'd give forza a try if I didnt need POS uwp.

How about non-garbage screenshots? The thing you posted makes me thing they're both awful with the retail version slightly less so.

The frame rate is tied to the GPU and the CPU not more to the CPU than the GPU. These days almost every game is GPU bound and a shitty CPU can get you 30fps. High frame rates require a faster CPU. On powerful rigs the CPU is very seldom the bottleneck unless you're sporting something like a 3 or 4-Way SLI. These consoles however struggle to hit 60fps more so because of their garbage CPU's than their GPU's so you're kinda right on that.

that's a bit surprising. gt typically impresses me on whichever platform it's released. this one just looks flat.

Final version does look a good bit better. I stand corrected.

It's odd because the Beta version was literally missing textures in some parts.

The graphics look like shit for 2 reasons.

1.) Only a handful of the cars and tracks will sport the graphical fidelity shown in replays and official trailers. These will be PREMIUM tracks and vehicals just like the did last game. FACT!

2.) The entire game is made with VR in mind so it can't look that much better than what the PS VR headset is capable of displaying. FACT!!!!!!

But none of this really matters 'cause nobody gives a shit about Forza anymore on account of it not suporting the TRUE Top Gear and that is to say The Grand Tour!!! FAAAAACCCCCTTTTT!!!!!!!!

Haven't they been using the same engine for a long time now? Just like any racing game there will always be compromises. Some devs may choose to be strong in some areas and fall behind on other areas because they lack the expertise or time. I've been looking at GT sports gameplay (not replay mode bull) for quite some time now, and it's hit or miss. Some tracks look really good and others don't.

All of this really makes me wonder about the state of the game if they haven't chose to delay. It would have been a disaster for the brand.

I fully understand that you would like MK & NFS games as they are on shall we say the "entry" level to racing games, have fun with those and have a nice day :)

@dxmcat: you should just give it a try. The Windows store blows, but it hasn't prevented me from enjoying Apex and Horizon 3

i played forza apex on PC at 4k..... it looks a bit fake looking too. also it says im going 90mph but looks like im going 30mph lol

I'm not expecting much from Gran Turismo Sport. Same series that got me to buy a PS3, only to wait years for the game's release, and then be disappointed by it. Use to be a huge fan.

The graphics don't look amazing, which sucks, but I wish that was the only thing to be concern about.

This will be fuel in SW if Sony announces a Q3/Q4 2017 launch and actually releases it. Incoming 1000x threads on Forza 7 on Scorpio vs Gran Turismo "7" Sport on PS4 Pro.

Thing is im still not in win10 though. Trying to hold out till next upgrade overhaul as the benefits don't outweigh the negatives.

Like I said to you earlier games like MK are entry level racers, and being a casual when it comes to racing games like you is why you like them, there's nothing wrong with that.

I on the other hand need more then what MK offers, to me MK is a wham, bam, thank you mam kind of game, and by that I mean you jump on have a few goes and move onto something else. Maybe you should come out of your little racing bubble, and stop being so grumpy towards more serious racers and try Forza Horizon 3, as it has aspects for all types of racing fans, yes even a casual such as yourself :)

It's 1800P Checkerboarding. FPS is between 50-60fps. I'm pretty sure that Forza 7 and Project Cars 2 will be native 4K on the Scorpio with HDR support. These comparisons should be interesting this Fall.

@asylumni: I use to play with a wheel setup before having kids, but that's not an option now, so twiddling my sticks will have to do for now, real world problems ya know?

No need to laugh, VR for racing is here to stay. That's why every big racing Sim has added VR support. It's early, but undoubtedly a big step forward for the genre. Your close mindedness doesn't change that.

That's a silly question. Polyphony Digital raises "delay" to an art form, even delaying a game after it's going gold in the past.

Lol they may have to drop it SF5 style. Release with content just for the FIA Sanctioned races. Going to anger normal fans but that is actually the biggest deal about the damn game.

Then that would be no different than GT5, which would be considered an unfinished product.
