As the title says, Nolan North sounds like a slightly less irritating C3PO. Imagine putting up with that for the hours of nonsensical dialogue that you can't skip for a story that has no plot. Video below.

I didn't mind the Dinklage.
It wasn't always great, but it wasn't that bad.
I heard they went back and changed ALL the voice acting for older content as well. So you get the new voice throghout the whole game now.
@mr_huggles_dog:
To tell you the truth I didn't mind Dinklage either, perfectly suited for a non-emotional AI. North is WAY worse based on that video. Granted I got bored and returned it to the rental store after about 10 hours of nothing but cheesy bullet-sponge enemies, I could not fathom putting up with that in unskippable cutscenes starting over form the beginning.
You're right he does sound like 3CPO.. I didn't mind Dinklebot so much. This is going to take some getting used to even though past the main story you would hardly hear him.
The voice actor is the least of that game's problems. I thought Dinklage did fine. This voice actor seems like he would be alright.
@lostrib:
lol no. It is still a slot machine book-ended by bullet-sponge enemies and even more spongy bosses that take way too long to kill to hide the fact that there is so little content. All so you can get a crap green engram that turns into useless gear 99.9999% of the time.
they should have licensed from Valve the voice of Wheatley for the ghost (and a skin to go with it for that matter)... I mean, hell, if they want to create paid DLC just for that privilege I'd totally pay $20 for it
anyhow, gonna miss Dinklage, North doesn't sound too bad though but nothing great, still gotta create a titan class guardian so I'll get to see how much extra voice acting was put into the latest expansion

Or, you know, they could get someone who is GOOD. Barring that they could get someone who is passable (like North) but actually give them direction to not sound terrible. Judging from this, I am guessing half of what people complained about Dinklage's performance was actually terrible direction telling him to sound that way. You can't fix a shitty voice over just by changing the VA if the script and direction still sucks.
You got all of that from just that one line?
Seriously
I don't know how anyone can pass judgement on North's performance by this trailer.
>new bosses
>it's basically a bigger version of the standard cabal guys but spongy.
Do they ever plan on giving that game bosses and content that isn't lame as shit?
Bungie and Activision are in that comfortable position where their fanbase is more than happy to pay for more mediocrity.
I'd pull the same shitty shit.
@jg4xchamp: Why, when they can reskin the same enemies from the previous game and buff up their stats and HP? They can't make them less spongy because then they would have to make actual content. If it wasn't for the bullet-sponge enemies the strikes would take 5 minutes and the raids 15. They are too lazy/incompetent to make decent content and why shouldn't they be, the rubes who buy this shit are more than happy to spend $60 on $20 worth of content that isn't even entertaining.
At least from that one little tiny tidbit, Ghost's voice doesn't sound good.
Though let's be honest, the problem has always been the sub-par writing.

Really? I was hoping they would have improved the bosses, they were so tedious to kill.

Yep.
@Kaze_no_Mirai: You will hear him a lot in The Taken King content which is tje main thing people will be playing in 3 weeks. The new voice doesn't bother me though.
@moistcarrot:
You will be waiting a long time. This is A-B, they now use the minimal amount of time and resources to produce content and instead drag out the treadmill to keep people invested (grind + random slot machine drops = profit). This is their new game plan, just look at Hearthstone, the price of heroes in HotS, and the utter drought of content in Destiny that they try to hide with bullet sponge enemies.
Activision-Blizz new business model - grind, grind, grind some more and spend money on micro-transactions. The days of large content patches are over. Now you get 5 or 6 additional hours of content for $20-40.
I don't think the voice is bad at all, seems a bit more robotic than the Dinklage one. I'm fairly stoked for TTK, guess I'm one of the few that even like this game.
Also seems kind of backwards to report on this game as much as Gamespot does after basically saying Destiny was barely mediocre.
Nolan North is a great voice actor... I can't tell much from that line, but I don't doubt that the writing will be a serious issue. I've been playing it lately (**** all else to do) and the writing is just out-and-out lame.
Currently it is terrible in terms of explanations and story wise but it seems like all that will be fixed in the taken king... maybe lol

I'm actually gonna pick it up. I enjoy the game-play even though the bosses just absorb damage like mofos. Although, i'm still way behind and haven't even tackled the other minor expansions yet. The Taken King looks interesting, and this shit could have been amazing if Bungie just nailed the story... Hopefully that's what they did with TTK.

Bungie is an extremely strange dev i think i mean in one hand you have them being extremely user friendly and listen to everything the fans have to say and fix things and on the other hands they do stuff that are just beyond stupid like the recent changes with exotics that not all exotics you worked hard for are going to be upgraded for the upcoming DLC like the Gjallarhorn or example which has made a lot of noise on their forums with a #Noexoticsleftbehind thing going on in the bungie forums.
Are you on my friends list? i'll try to jump in and help out if you need help with some of these strikes or raids

Yeah, i've heard some odd things like that. Kinda makes me glad that I wasn't in for the initial grind... It was similar to the FFXIV end-game grind, which was basically nullified in the Heavensward expansion. Kinda sucks.
I have no idea if you're on my friend's list... I always lose track lol. I'm traveller--
I never say no to a little help.
Is Nolan North the only video game voice actor in existence? When does he get to be Lara Croft?
I imagine he's just good at his niche', much like how when people need animated creatures, Andy Serkis is the go-to guy.
Seems less like they hired Peter Dinklage for talent and more a pop culture name to raise the games profile.
Did they make the game fun and interesting to play?
No.
Game was fun for a while.
Don't be so jaded.

I'm sure The Order was too, no one cares Cranler.
Apparently, a lot of ppl care considering so many ppl have strong opinions about the game.
You should get it since you don't have a PC.

I think everyone agrees that he's good at what he does, but the guy is just everywhere. On the other hand, I can see how a lot of companies may end up having their "should have just gone with NN" moments after people like Dinklage turn out to be prohibitively expensive in the long run.
Based on this short clip I have to say Dinklebot was way better. Maybe because I'm used to him. I actually liked Dinklebot, don't get all the hate. But whatever I agree with what a previous poster said, the voice actor is the least of this game's problems.
