RE5 doesn't even seem to work to be survival horror. It does not seem to try to create a sense of loneliness and impending doom, unlike Dead Space, which seems to be a third-person version of System Shock 2 but with better graphics and different enemies.
And I loved SS2.
I gotta give this one to EA.
Dead Space looks like one of the best games to come out this year, and that's saying A LOT.
I like Dead Space. RE5 is RE4 in Africa...BioShockOwnz
Yup.
Dead Space looks amazingly frightening and also not as tank-ish. Still have to see what's up with RE5's new control scheme, though.
I have to say befor eplaying Dead Space I never played a resi before so loved it. Its a brilliant game graphically and gameplay also has a good load of extras. But having just finished all of the resi's on Gamecube I cant wait for the new one even though it has moved towards afction there's still so much that has already been done in the universe( bar the movies of course) that it can't be a bad game plus the replayability factor with mercenaries mode and coop which has always been an opportunity in the sereis.
Dead Space is an amazing game one of my all time favourites but is it going to beat resi? No, Jill's death is just too enticing and the controls are loverly.

where did you dig this thread from lol, anyways since dead space is out and we have played RE5 demo, its clear dead space is better
Wouldn't be wise to play both games first? Nonetheless, judging from the demo, I'd stay with Dead Space. Felt more polished. IronBassDead Space was probably the most polished game of last year, saw very few jaggies, almost no glitches and the game was absolutely beautiful and the environments kept you on edge the whole time visuals and sounds.

Not only that. The camera/shooting/moving mechanics were perfect. I needed no time to felt extremely comfortable with the controls. With RE5 I'm having trouble, and I think I will need a little time to get used to it.

Judging by the RE5 demo, i think Dead Space will win in both categories.[QUOTE="IronBass"][QUOTE="404-not-found"]Well, you're comparing a horror game, with your generic shootan. Which wins? P.S. It's not RE5.Silent-HalDead Space is hardly more an "horror game" than RE4/5, and hardly are RE4/5 "generic shooters". Old school RE fans just feel left out because 'it's not horror anymore.' Not that's it's any less horror than the originals. They were so scary with their giant spiders and mutant lizards :|. I dont feel left out, I think people need to realize that RE fans play for the fiction and story and the gameplay is really like an added bonus
Dead space I didn't find scary. I did however enjoy it throughly.
RE5 will probably be alot of fun but not scary at all.

I believe that "eerie" is a more apt word.
