I was looking forward to seeing this game and hoping co-op was optional and the action was on the backside with horror on the front line. I see that gameplay and trailer, it started off good enough. Then I sasw the co-op and action scripted parts and lost all faith. The game looks generic and too action orientated. It didn't even try to make it seem scary at all, that tells me right there they are more about the action, one of my favorite franchises from this gen.. ruined.

It's not like the Dead Space series was scary anyway. I'm looking forward to this one though.

They aren't milking it because it's not a yearly release. Dead Space 1 wa smy favorite games this gen, and Dead Space 2 was great but it disappointed me a bit, and now this doesn't even look like Dead Space..

Compared to Amnesia: The Dark Descent , Dead Space is a walk in the park.

I definitely agree, I loved Dead Space 1 and 2, now it looks like it's getting the same treatment that Resident Evil 5 got. These types of games shouldn't have co-op.

Yeah, the only thing this E3 does good so far is showcasing all of the industry's problems, like severe lack of creativity and original ideas in more high-profile games, which is being displayed as I write this (MoH Warfighter)...

Makes me so sad. It's such a fantastic franchise at its core. Why they add all this stupidity instead of making it slower paced, darker and more complex :(.

Yeah gaming is still great with the unique and stellar IP's, but I've given up on E3 as a gaming convention.

E3 demos are always very action focused, doesn't mean the whole game will be like that.

RE5 is the highest selling game in the franchise. The whiny brats you see on these forums are not representativeof the general public that just play video games for fun.

I'm not buying Dead Space 3. I feel it will be a waste of money by the looks of the show. Looks like it is being milked.

Original Dead Space and the 2 are great.

I was worried Dead Space 2 would be too scripted based on early videos I saw but in the end it was a pretty good game, though I liked the first better in some respects. Anyhow, I hope taking the game planetside works out, I liked playing the other games in the vacuum and zero gravity environments but I'm open to change as long as the game is still good.

I believe he is misinformed. There is only one campaign, if it's played in single player, then Carver just doesn't show up.

I think that's really up to the player in some part on whether when they play a game meant to be scary on how they're effected by it, for instance I myself when I'm playing a scary game make sure to make it as enjoyably scary as possible, like playing late at night all by myself on my big screen HDTV with the lights off, surround sound or headphones with the volume cranked up, and no distractions like music or my second TV or laptop that I sometimes play movies on while I play games goes off, and I won't party chat with friends while playing as they can be distracting... taking all these steps back when the first Dead Space came out I really enjoyed it and thought it was scary, I don't imagine I'd have had the same impression had I say played on a tiny TV with the sound turned down while listening to music or having a friend chat my ear off. If marijuana ever gets legalized for recreational use I would (in the hypothetical future tense) suggest self medicating if you're deficient in the sensitivity needed to enjoy a survival horror, but being as it's not legal yet I don't condone that course of action for others... but I don't condemn it either.

  • Cover is limited to firefights with humans
  • fending off armed and militant Unitologists as well as necromorphs

Looks like I was right about this. Glad I didn't have to eat my own words.

And with how they explained everything, I'm really digging it. Combine that with the "the thing" vibe, and it's day one. However, I don't like the sound of uni ammo. That micro managment made you choose what you needed. What you thought would be most needed was what you brought. Not fond of the idea of crafting, but playing it might make a difference.

As a strong fan of the series, I strongly like how the co-op sounds, thanks for the link.

Good, Dead Space 1 and 2 weren't scary at all. Focus on the good parts of Dead Space which were the action and cinematic moments.
