As we unofficialy found out, this time the thing will be completely different and the game will actually be a FPP game with elements characteristic for role-playing games.

we don’t suspect the game to be a regular shooter, but rather an action game full of RPG elements

Good if its true. games like this cannot work in third person. we dont need another mass effect.

having first person entirely will bring more immersion akin to Deus Ex and System shock. i would be very interested if it become another deus ex type game.

now let see how can CDPR actually pull the trigger on immersive.

I agree. I prefer 1st person. I sit really close to the TV and pretend they are actually my eyes, the only think that break the immersion is when I have to blink. I hate that, blinking is so boring and overrated,.

You just can't possibly do this with 3rd person as the character get in the way of the screen and makes it harder for me to pretend that they are my eyes. Although the blinking is less of an issue in this view.

It'll be first person/third person hybrid based on official documents from CDPR. Similar to what Bethesda does.

The most interesting part is they're going with immersive sim elements where you choose your playstyle and how you approach situations unlike the more linear missions of The Witcher 3.

That makes a lot of sense given the setting.

lot of witcher 3 fans are disappointed when i was watching some news on youtube and many comments there. bunch of casuals dont know how immersive FPS/RPG hybrid genre was. and much better than overrated ubisofify open world game that witcher 3 is.

if its true and cyberpunk will be far better game than witcher 3. and finally CDPR first truely great game.

guess we will have to see until they show something at E3. Though If they are going with a fps/tps hybrid like fallout, I expect the third-person component to be mediocre.

If it's an FPS then I'm skipping it. I'm so sick of the genre. I passed on both RE7 and FC5 with no regrets because they were FPS games.

Good, I prefer Fps. Its more immersive, but if I was a developer it should be option 3rd or 1st person.

and RE7 is just horror game in first person. not FPS.

I kind of feel the same way. If you have a choice like Skyrim I'm cool with it but if it's only 1st person I'm not that hyped any more and I'd probably just wait until it's on sale

It'll be 3rd person, not 1st. But honestly, I don't really care either way; I just know it's going to be amazing.

They said they are going in-depth with the character creation, so 3rd person makes the most sense.

I'd say there are pros and cons between first and third person. 1st person is arguably more immersive, no denying that. But in RPG's where you have a great deal of gear customization along with the overall progression of your character, I really like to see that evolution in appearance reflecting their growth in power and status in the world.

I prefer the Fallout 4/GTA V method. Have both views: First-person for immersion, third-person for beauty shots or in driving scenarios. ;)

Of course, if I have to choose, I pick immersion (first-person view).

Nope because it also has FP and given the history of the ev they already have 1st Witcher as top down view as well. But that's not the point, the hypocrisy becomes apparent when cows claim Sony has so much diversity while at the same time also criticize EA, Ubisoft, Activision etc for the template games. Good to see you cows desperate attempts to defend Sony at all costs, it's really entertaining.

if deus ex was third person. it would be nowhear near as immerisve. look at mass effect. cover peak shooter. waste of time.
