Consoles are doomed! 'Official' Bluetooth iOS joypad announced!

Gameloft announces Bluetooth iOS joypad.


What differentiates the Duo Gamer, however, is that its the first of its kind to be officially certified by Apple. Existing peripherals, such as the arcade-emulating iCade, work by tricking iOS into thinking they are a bluetooth keyboard.

However, theres a big caveat consumers need to be aware of the Duo Gamer only supports Gameloft titles. Specifically, at the current time, it supports five games Asphalt 7, Modern Combat 3, Brothers in Arms 2, NOVA 3 and Order & Chaos.

It also costs a hefty $80 in the US, placing it far beyond its competition most of which boast a broader compatibility list, too.

The Duo Gamer will be sold in Apple Stores, though were yet to learn of any other UK retailers who will carry the product.

Consoles Had a good run. Now, instead of playing crap like RE6 on your 50'' Tv at crappy upscaled 720p you can now play AAA games like Nova 3 on your 10'' iPad at super HD!

On top of that, my iphone 4s is no where near as capable as a Console or PC. And why would I want to buy a $600 ipad thats going to be run the newer games slower because a new tablet comes out in a year, it's already like that., PC gaming doesn't even outdate that quickly. When the new consoles come out, the gap between tablets and consoles will be much more significant, (even as of now they still aren't as powerful). And there is only 1 game on ios that I want, and thats that new Final Fantasy game. The reason I haven't bought it yet is because its on iOS and I just don't really want to play games on my tiny phone. If they bring it to xbox live arcade, Steam or PSN I will buy it the second it goes up.

I am not a supporter of tablets and never will be.

Whaha!:lol: I've been using my PS3 controller for playing games on my tablet for the past year. Just use the Sixaxis Controller app and map touch screen buttons to the controller. Can use any bluetooth controller aswell.

I figured, and it's unfortunate. An iPad with Bluetooth controller support--a proper controller--would actually be pretty great. It could be a portable arcade. Street Fighter, Call of Duty, etc. I almost always have my iPad with me and simply tossing a compact controller in my bag enabling me to play coop fps or fighting games on the go would really nullify Vita.Heirren
