If you can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps, you're probably playing with a refresh rate of 30 Hz.
Edit: I'd love to know what kinds of monitors those 120-200 fps people are using :P

Why does your sig look 3D?I can tell the difference between 100 and 120 fps. Most PC gamers can, since we can actually play games like that. It's more a 'feel' thing really. Higher framerates feel so much better. Playing CSS at over 200fps just feels so fast and responsive.

While playing Quake3Arena i see masive difference between 100 and 125 fps.Magik85
That's because fps was somehow connected to game physics in Q3A.
Fun stuff: when I learned that Doom 3 is going to be locked at 60 fps back in 2003, I was thinking how awful and lame is that. I was so used to 100 fps in my games:P
Easily. I have some difficulty between 60FPS and 120FPS

It would be hard to tell the difference between 60fps and 120fps. Anything under 60fps is easy to tell what it is.
Yes, I don't know why some people tend to say that the human eye can't detect more than 30 frames per second when the difference is obvious.
Just play SMG2.
If you notice something feels different about it, it's because it runs at 60 fps.
Also do this, buy 3DS with OoT Remake, and then hook up your N64 or Wii VC to compare the Remake with the original OoT. That's a good way to see the difference of fps, they increased it for the 3DS version.
I'm not a pro but I'm starting to learn how it works and yeah there is a difference. I mostly understood that by experimenting on WoW. Running around with low gfx, but damn it's smooth, then I lock it at 30 and it sucks again :(
Huge Difference. 30fps=playable. 60fps=smooth gameplay. Everything looks much, much better.
I'd argue the difference of 30 and 60fps is greater than going from a 720 to 1080 picture.
[QUOTE="lazerface216"][QUOTE="MrSelf-Destruct"]Yes. See for yourself. This demonstration involves a little blue block jumping up and down. The quality of the animation is very noticeable. If you throw in full scale 3d environments and a bunch of moving characters you'll notice the same quality (or lack there of) in everything on screen. KHAndAnime
this right here proves i don't give a **** about this kind of stuff. i honestly don't care about the difference between 60 and 30 FPS. i guess hardcore tech guys do, but i just want to play the ****ing game.
I'd prefer to play the ****ing game as 60 FPS. :P It's simply more enjoyable. You don't enjoy smooth gameplay and responsive controls?of course i do, as far as the link mrself-destruct provided it didn't really seem like that big of a deal, which is what i based my post off of. 30 FPS seems to work fine enough though 60 is obviously better.
Yes, it's a world of difference, and makes thing so much smooth and more playable, which is why I game on PC.

I noticed this most when Playing BC2 on PS3 and then going to PC. It really is a night and day difference. I never want to go back to those framerates. 60 FPS makes everything a lot more playable

Its nothing even close to representing gameplay. Its just a video showing a difference. Gameplay wise everything is far better in 60 fps. Its smooth as silk
I just started playing resident evil 5 on pc and at 60 frames, it's so smooth. My benchmark results are averaging 130 fps but I can only see 60 due to my screen's refresh rate.
I would love to know what those 120hz monitors look like.
screw that dude get a 240 refresh rate....its RIDICULOUS!!!![QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]

It's only the experts at Sony and M$ who say that.
No My Friend also says that.
I told him that there's an obvious difference between framerates and he goes off into a "Why do you care?" statement.
Well unlike him I'd like a stable frame rate and I think 60 frames is better than 30 frames.
