Of course you can, mine only cost ?700 last year and it has a 560Ti and Phenom II x4 955 in it and it's able to max almost everything at 1080p at over 45 FPS. and that was last years prices. I got my stuff from hardwareversand.de and anobo.de. Also I'm based in Ireland so I use dabs.ie most times too because they have free shipping on items close to ?100.

Go to the PC hardware section and ask for good builds and then look for the items yourself in your retailr of choice

None of the PCs in sigs around here cost close to $2000. And even if they did they will have top of the line hardware. You can still but a fantastic rig for ?600 and max out any game and beat any console

No. You're gonna get lied to by some b!tch ass fools in this thread. If you want a god-tier PC, you need to drop at least 800 bucks, and even then i wouldn't be spending that little. Expensive is not a bad thing. Drop the cash now and you'll still have a decent game playing machine eight years from now running graphics better than the next-gen consoles. LIKE A BOSS!

$800 = ~635 euro... And yes you can build a PC for that much that will play any game in 1080p with high settings. Don't get fooled by some PC elitists, you don't need a PC that can play BF3 in ridiculously high resolutions at max settings with 100+ fps to enjoy PC gaming.

Yes, you can play any current game with that in 1080p and high settings. I don't know if that's the best gpu you can get for your price range tho, so better head to the hardware forum and ask there.

Naw, but dats what you WANT, right? Spend the money and DO THAT SH1T. Play yourself some battlfield 3 1080p 100fps. Be a balla. Play it the best it can be. Dont spend the duckets on some crap you just gonna have to upgrade in a year when it falls its ass behind.

Sure thing...

Will do the job fine on 1080p.Obviously,you won't be maxing out very demanding games like Crysis 2,BF3,etc,but they'll still work nice for high settings...

Also, keep in mind how on 60Hz monitors, anything more than 60FPS is a waste, and not noticeable. That's why it is a good idea to use frame limiters, and limit the FPS to 60FPS.Less strain on the card, less fan noise, and lower temps...

That combo will max out almost everything at 1080p right now. Get a 560Ti if you're getting one not a regular 560. My CPU is weaker than the i5 2500 and I have a 560Ti and I can max practically everygame at 1920x1080.

Also we don't lie about the price of things like some consolites think we do. We are realistic and wouldn't sugar coat it for you.For some reason they all think we lie about the price as some sort of troll move or something like that, what would we have to gain from it? :? That CPU/GPU combo is plenty

Yeah sure bro. Let's not forget consoles are 6 years old now and their tech is FAR behind by now. And despite what some may think playing a game at 1080p and 60 FPS is a huge difference, not something to be scoffed at. If console players could have that instead of sub-HD and 30 FPS believe me they would take it. It's because they don't have it they have this incessent need to hate on the things they don't have. Like mods too.

I bet if consoles gained 1080p natively with 60 fps and mods they would all be saying the exact opposite of what they say now.

People need to be aware of that everything PC is much more expensive in Europe. At least in my country. So a $600 rig is like $1200 here.

Not at this site, most sig stuff is way less than that. A $600 can max most games, or at the least easily out do console counterparts.

Yes, you can buy an entry-level system and piggyback your pride off people with much more expensive rigs.

None of the PCs in sigs around here cost close to $2000. And even if they did they will have top of the line hardware. You can still but a fantastic rig for ?600 and max out any game and beat any console

it was mostly a joke (note the emote) but seriously i just built one for a friend 6 months ago and even being careful with the budget and getting tons of the components on sale it was $1,200.

and that was pushing the bottom limit of what anyone that is really into pc gaming would actually want to play games on.

You can max out most games on a $600 PC.

The problem arises when you are trying to run a game that's not well-optimized, will chug on hardware that should/would/could handle it.

If you're gonna be a PC gaming enthusiast, you don't ever want to run a game and see herky jerky framerates, torn frames, stutter, no matter how badly they botched the port.

On a $600 PC well-optimized games will max out nicely, it will use your hardware efficiently.

And then you'll buy a game that's not well-optimized and it will run like schit.

A $1500 build will mitigate that.

You'll have the horsepower to power thru bad ports and make it run pretty smooth.

A $600 build will choke on bad ports.

You'll be like "omg I bought this game and it runs like schit."

That's the difference.

Hm for my PC I paid something like 1100 euro, but I had to buy Win7 and a uselessly fancy case and a stupidly powerful 1000W PSU. I have a i5 2600k, 8gb ram, Geforce 580gtx Super OC. If you dont want to overclock your processor than you can save on one without the k on the end, 6gb will be fine for anything, and Geforce 580 at this point is still overkill for just about any game. So yes you can get a good PC for around 800. If you need a nice but fairly cheap monitor, IIyama is the way to go. Dont listen to people who will tell you to get an i7, its pointless if the PC is going to be just for gaming.

580 will max anything. Unless its just a badly made game I suppose. I had no problem playing a heavily modded Crysis on max settings. It should last for a few years. I dont know what will happen when the next gen consoles hit, but I dont believe there will be a graphical leap so graphics will continue to evolve slower than hardware. Still read reviews, comparisons and such. Maybe there is something out there that makes more sense than a 580. I bought mine in the winter and since then havent really followed the prices of cards. I remember buying a geforce 6600 somewhere around the release of HL2 and not changed it for 4 years or so, so graphics cards usually run games well for a few years.

Isn't really much of a reason to do this unless you're using more than one monitor or playing at a resolution higher than what's typical.

Definitely man! Build your own, its not hard at all. A bit of research and some help from others and you'll be well on your way.

That's not really necessary for gaming though. It would obviously be better, but he can get a good enough PC for much less.

Going more expensive is not always an option.
