C&C: Renegade X MP shooter is out next month

Renegade X (formerly known as Renegade 2007) is a mod dedicated to recreating C&C Renegade in the Unreal Engine 3.

Released in 2002, the modders believe that Renegade's multiplayer was quite ahead of its time and people couldn't appreciate the game due to the scarce proliferation of high-speed internet back then. The game was mostly judged by its single-player, which still was better than BF3/4 campaings XD.

The STANDALONE version of the game will be released on February 26th. Technically, it's being launched into open beta, with patches and balance tweaks due over the coming weeks and months.

Always loved the multiplayer of the original Renegade, it has a great concept but it has never really expanded that much. They could be given a second try with this awesome recreation. Something very fresh for FPS lovers

Its free EA let them use the license for the game long as they don't profit from it

And to think I started following this game back when it was called Renegade2007....in 2007...

Kind of disappointed that they wasted their time on that SP campaign...thing they made last year. They should've recreated the original campaign, at least.

But whatever, it's finally here. And it serves as more proof for the greatness of mods.

Awesome, I'll definitely be checking this out.

Remember playing the original all the time and it hold a special place as it was the first PC game I ever bought with my own money as a kid.

I think it was my 2nd. Red Alert 2 being my first.
