BF4: No Difference Between the PC and PS4 Versions

I've got Battlefield 4 for both PC and the PS4 and based on my personal experience with both versions, there is no difference in graphical quality between the PS4 version and the PC version on Ultra Settings @ 1080P. Textures, lighting, and anti-aliasing are all identical as far as I can tell. Perhaps there are review sites that have found differences, but I'm assuming that you have to compare still-frames and nitpick them in order to notice any.

I find this to be very impressive. Keep in mind that I have a kick-ass PC with a bomb-ass HD 7970 in it.

Are you sure you have it maxed out because from what i've seen from direct feed PS4 captures and from my own experience with BF4 on PC, the PC version has better IQ and AA among other things, and it's pretty obvious.

My point is that when I shut off my PS4 after playing the PS4 version of BF4 and then turn on my PC and play the PC version, I don't notice any difference, which means that if there is any, it's inconsequential and would only be noticed by putting both versions side by side.

PS4 version run at 1600x900 and high settings and with barely 60fps.(exactly how a HD7850 perform in BF4)

me on the other hand I run bf4 at 2560x1440, Ultra settings and 80fps.

As far as texture and world detail go, normal mapping on the ground is identical in quality with the PC's maxed-out setting,

In several parts like shadows,geometry,draw distance,resolution PC has the clear lead,in some is identical to to consoles.

I have a PC (GTX 760 OC and i5 2500k OC to 4.5Ghz) and a PS4 as well. I don't have Battlefield 4 on PC only the PS4 however I find it looks better then Battlefield 3 on PC.

I did however compare Assassins Creed Black Flag and graphics there were very similar, just PC had much higher frame rate and looked a tad nicer.

The textures in Killzone were pretty impressive as well as the lighting. However the game itself was crap.

Of course not why will i put my eyes in danger with the blurry ps4 version? But that i say about the ps4 version is true.

You have a 7970 but remember Digital Foundry needed SLI 7970s to beat the PS4

I'll have to wait until my friend comes round with his PS4, which will probably be the end of December, early January. I want to compare it to my PC :P

I've been experiencing a control bug/ glitch in the PC version of BF3 and BF4, as well as the PS4 version of BF4. When I'm moving forward, I will stop then start again, stop then start again, and stop and start again, and so on and so on. The stops and starts happen in quick succession of one another, so it creates a stuttering effect. Just to reiterate, I experience this on both the PS4 and on PC.

How can you even play a game below 1080p? Cant fathom the thought of doing it...

Not only are a number of effects runnign at half-resolution on the PS4, but the resolution difference and the pop-in are obvious differences as well.

The length to which consoiltes will go to try and equate the PC and the console is ridiculous. And I thought it was bad last gen.

Played both aswell, theres a difference, but they aren't exactly noticable in motion. Hermits can blabber about settings and numbers but eyes don't deceive.

I've never noticed any pop-in in the PS4 version of BF4. Never. Also, don't call me a "consolite;" I play on whatever platform I like. I'm not an irrational fanboy like you. Also, here's another opinion of mine: I think playing BF4 with the PS4 controller is more comfortable and fun than with a KB+M. How do you like them apples, huh?

I have played the PS4 version and own the Xbox One and PC version. My PC is running a GTX 690, i7 3770k and a 2560x1440p monitor. There are HUGE differences. Explosion effects, no texture pop in, overall texture quality, steady frame rate to name a few. I have my current/next gen consoles hooked up to a 70" Sharp TV. I hooked my PC up to it last night and cranked the AA and the differences were even greater at that screen size.

I don't want to see any of you cows talking shit about the xbone running games at 900p vs 1080p on the PS4. It 900p vs 1080p (and beyond) doesn't matter when we talk PC vs PS4 then damn sure doesn't matter when we talking PS4 vs Xbone.

So basically what the TC is saying is that when he plays the pc version on high settings at 900p for a bit then he switches the settings to ultra and 1080p he doesnt notice a difference. That's understandable as I know plenty of people who wouldnt bother to tell the difference between the two. Me on the other hand am very spoiled with a 1440p monitor and anything less is incredibly noticeable to me along with plenty others who have been spoiled as I have.

Even my bf3 on pc looks sharper and has better textures and lighting than bf4 on my ps4

Why would you buy it on both systems?

Oh and I agree with you on console games looking good. Hell I'm impressed with BF3 on the PS3. Sure they don't look as good as the PC versions but the difference isn't that big.
