BF: Hardline angryjoe review "It's a Cocky Doody reskin"

I didn't watch the video but am pretty sure I can guess what he has to say.

- The campaign is no good.

- It should have been an expansion

- He pokes fun at some glitchy A.I. Stuff

- $60 is too much for this game.

Pretty spot on I'm sure. That's because this is what the entire internet has been saying about the game. Joe doesn't have an original thought in his head. People saying "he's the only reviewer with the guts to say this" need to wake up. And I find it funny when people who have never played the reviewed game say "excellent review."

In previous generations people used game reviews to justify their purchases. Now people use reviews like Joes to justify not buying a game. The Internet is a strange place.

I can probably say the same to those who have this view, considering even he'll disagree with everybody else on forums. He's done this with Ground Zeroes.

what about those braindead 5v5 modes with the worst maps seen in a multiplayer (extract the vip into one of the two circles, stand in it for 3sec *literally* and win). What about that? I didn't even know this was a thing and after watching his review i kinda facepalmed. The fact that its branded under "Battlefield" is just sad...

I'd have to say that I've largely felt the same way hating on Battlefield Premium's $50 price tag. For that, I personally blame COD's Elite subscription for setting up that precedence (are they still doing that on the COD side?). I can probably overlook a shit SP campaign but I still want to play this for the MP.

u know I felt the same way at first. but the more i see this guy the more he talks the truth about games. he isn't scared to piss off developers like most review sites are. he actually tells it like it is. don't hate mems, this is one of the good guys in the world of gaming, he actually gives a damn.

he is. his reviews are seen by millions, the amount of money EA 'may' lose just because of this game's review is pretty damn high lol

It's a great review. AJ is pretty much one of the few reviewers out there that tells you what the game is (what to expect/what's in the game/how it works) rather than what the game is about (telling the whole storyline as a review). He doesn't care if his opinion is popular or not, he just presents it the way it is. I may disagree with many of his scores (hell, I don't even like his attitude), but there's no doubt, his reviews are solid. I'm just disappointing that many gamers either like or dislike a review/er (AJ or not) simply because the reviewer's score or opinion is different from that of the gamer. "I think it's a 9/10 (or 4/10). You think it's a 7/10. Your review sucks. You suck." That's not what a review is about--whether you agree with his score or not. Most of these folks miss the point of a review but instead are there looking to justify their 9/10 ( or 4/10)--to which I ask why? A review isn't for those who already has made an opinion of a game. A review is about explaining what the game is and what to expect as a consumer who is looking to buy the game. After the review, one should be able to make the decision about the flaws and highlights presented by the reviewer such as if the problems of the game can be ignored by you as the consumer. Whether or not the highlights of the game is enough to sway you to buy. Whatever the case the review itself must be presented in a fashion to where you, the consumer, can actually make those choices. In that regard, AJ does one hell of a job in reviews--he goes in great details to support his claims (which many reviewers don't provide examples)--claims that big review sites may even fail to explore or even mention. As far as BF:Hardline is concern: Less content, feels like 15 bucks expansion pack, few good modes, gimped battlefield 4 online, poor storyline single player, still some fun experiences. Now make your choice.

Why is that? some people have it as a job to review games you know...

I disagree with this persons viewpoints regarding content: the content of Battlefield has become convoluted, primarily to justify the peanut throwing unlock and XP progression system.

I think he is pointing out that he is playing it in order to review it.

love what he says at the end because it's true. People pay that outrageous amount of money for an inferior game compared to BF4 and they will help to set a real bad standard. If only more game reviewers were honest like him... But many of them can't since they are tied to contracts with advertisers and shit.

While I want to play this game, and have no interest in the SP, I want it entirely for the MP. I think it looks loads of fun, and performance on consoles is what I've come to expect so I'm not down on that. What I do take most issue with is that $50 worth of DLC that's yet to be released, so asking me to pay $110 for the whole thing is outrageous. He's right, BF4 is mostly fixed months later and is probably the game to stick with. I just picked it up on an Xbox One digital sale recently for $24 for everything, so if people are still playing that and not Hardline then I think I'll go there for the action until Hardline gets a complete bundle discounts months later. Again, I still want to play it, but god damn, not at that price, and not while I'm so bummed about the cost of the DLC.

Don't usually comment on these things but man those visuals are bad. That swamp MP map looks like something straight out of 2005 or something. Wow.

Excellent, ill watch this gem as soon as I'm out of work. He generally makes a great review, I like the honesty he conveys and he's damn near always on point about how a game plays. Thumbs up good sir!

He could've got 10 more minutes just by ranting about the class and weapon balance in the game. I mean, let's give the best guns and the best gadgets in the game to the same class and everything will be fine.
