Best System This Gen In Your Opinion?

I voted Switch only because I didn't notice or expect PC to be in the poll. PC isn't divided by generations like consoles are. Anyway, Nintendo makes much better games than pretentious Sony, and because I'd rather watch movies or TV shows than play games when I get home, I find myself using the Switch's portable mode while commuting and during breaks at work much more frequently than I spend actually sitting down on the sofa to play.

I'm not sure Switch counts... but I guess as many of its games are Wii-U ports...

Even bigger LOL to the switch. A glorified Wii u port machine with the worst multiplat ports of games. Most of the games stutter in 240i-720p. Switch is the only console to offer worse resolution than the gen before it.

Xbox One for me. Best controller, solid online and ecosystem, backwards compatibility, Game Pass is a terrific value, Xbox One S is a very nice system redesign with a 4K Blu-ray player, Xbox One X is a very powerful and great mid-gen upgrade, and I very much enjoyed most of their first party games.

Ps4. I enjoyed it the most but do find time gaming overall is lower this gen. Must have been busy with work

It's understandably should always be PC (which what I voted too)

But in the absence of PC, it's clear the PS4 / Pro was the winner this gen.

Whenever I see these types of questions, I really wish we leave the PC out of this because we all it's going to be the obvious choice and I like it be just focus on consoles itself despite I'm devoted PC gamer and nothing more. I'm gonna vote PC for obvious reasons.

With that out of the way, I'll be talking about the secondary gaming systems that is consoles. For me, it's between PS4 & Switch....this isn't an easy choice to make cause I really enjoy both of these consoles, but I'll be honest, I'll go with PS4 as my best secondary console of choice. PS4 has lots of cool exclusive games more so then the Switch has, PS4 serves as my all-around media on my main 4KTV for apps like youtube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO, ect it just a well around entertainment console and while the Switch is good, but it's only good for me to play it when I'm not a home and it's portability is it's saving grace. PC>PS4 for me. Switch is a nice bonus to have.

Going by Facts PC is the best system this gen. It has over 100 more 8s+9s than PS4 this gen (Not Including Current Gen Emulation), on top of far better gfx, on top of far betterfps and load times, on top of exponentially superior online. Hence why so many more people play on PC than PS4/Pro. One movie game ever few years just isn't enough when put up against entire exclusive genres on top of MS exclusives, significantly Superior competitive gaming and e-sports, and the best version of nearly all titles.

Like I said in the OP we know PC wins for global opinion, but I was more interested in this niche console oriented forums opinion.

Yeah I should have said last 6-7 years. People get too stuck up on that word.

But this was a SW poll about which system you liked most, not console only poll. So I should have reworded gen to last 7 years.

1. Nintendo - The majority of favorite games of this generation were Wii U or Switch exclusives.

2. Xbox One - The best controller and the best online service makes it my go-to console for multiplats. It's also my 4K Blu-ray player.

3. PC - I have never really enjoyed playing traditional games on a PC as I prefer the console experience. PC is the only system that can currently deliver quality room-scale VR though and that alone had me using it much more than my PS4.

4. PS4 - I've always liked to buy all major consoles every single generation so that I don't miss out on anything. The PS4 is the first time in my life that I have ever regretted buying a console. I've always preferred other consoles for multiplats, but past Sony consoles would still deliver at least a handful of exclusives that I enjoyed to give it value to me. That didn't happen this generation since Sony just went all-in on movie-games that I don't give a crap about. They temporarily had two exclusives that I enjoyed but those games eventually went multiplat and left the PS4 with nothing of value to me that I can't get on one of my other systems.

@Sevenizz: yup Xbox x. Playing Wolfenstein 2 at4k 60fps. High end PC features. Can't believe how good the graphics are. I'm on hdr10 4k tho.

I own PS4 and Xbox one PS4 wins by landslide even if I owned a 4k TV PS4 would still be ahead the exclusives are miles better.

PS4, it's had the best exclusives this gen. Switch is also good but I like PS4 exclusives more. The Xbone is a laughing stock.

Yeah I always sort of wonder about that, but it doesn't really matter because it's always the best, gen or no gen.

But yeah I would choose PS4 if PC were to be excluded.

PS4 for me. The exclusives mattered more in this gen than any others imho. I've played and enjoyed almost all of them on the PS4. I have a gaming quality PC, but I outside of some fantastic entries like Divinity 2 I generally use it for games like Stardew Valley lol. I don't enjoy 1st person shooters so feel like PC is mostly wasted on me. I have an Xbox One S as well but have only played a few things on it. Forza, Sunset Overdrive, and Quantum Break.
