Best New IP this Gen... multiplat style!

So it's been like 5 minutes since we last had one of these topics, figured it was time enough for another one. To avoid rabid fanboys clamoring over Uncharted and Gears, we're making this multiplat only. Which unfortunately does exclude The Witcher and Souls series. Sorry Sean.

So... let's do this. Of course you can argue any IP, granted that it is a multiplat one, but I figured these are the most popular in order to encompass the majority of the posters' opinions.

My personal vote... Mass Effect :D

There were way too many great new IPs this gen for me to choose one. Plus it would depend on my mood. If I want a puzzle game, Portal, Space Opera would be Mass Effect, and Assassins Creed for action adventure. Bioshock was amazing with environmental kills and the story was awesome. Batman for beat em ups. This is the first gen that I can remember where multiplats played a bigger role than exclusives.

Out of the poll it's definitely Batman, but my own personal favorite is Dark Souls.

batman its not a new ip :/ in the choice i vote portal but my fav new ip its the souls series (demon and dark souls)

So many great new IPs this gen, like Rage (where's part 2?), Assassin's Creed, Arkham series, Dead Space, Portal, Lego games, Bayonetta, Darksiders, Darkness, Rock Band and others I'm forgetting.

I guess the best is Assassin's Creed, only one I didn't like was Revelations...such terrible RTS elements. AC3 looks just about perfect. Arkham is probably #2, loved those.

Mass Effect.. heck even Bioshock which at first was a horror game turned out to be a very deep/emotional game at the end.. great gaming generation.

Left 4 Dead 2 for making me laugh for about 143 hours (my total playtime on the game)

Batman isn't a new IP. I played a Batman game on the Megadrive. I would say it's a new IP, but people always pull the technicality of Red Dead Revolver to say Red Dead Redemption isn't a new IP despite it being a completely different genre. If RDR isn't a new IP then neither is Batman.

I'm going with the Bat as well.

I enjoyed Assassins Creed except the first one, which I found boring, repetitive and Altair was a horrible character. I'm also in the minority, in that I enjoyed Revelations and thought it was a good idea to finish Ezio's life story before moving onto a new ancestor of Desmond's, who isn't actually an ancestor because he's not directly related to them? Still don't get how that works!

Mass Effect was an excellent trilogy and thoroughly entertaining but changing the format massively from an RPG TPS to a TPS with a bit of RPG was a bad move imo.

Portal 1 and 2 are brilliant shining examples of how to improve a game and keep the basis the same between the first and second but I enjoyed Batman more.

I'll not go into the other great new multiplat IP's because there are loads of them and the TC's choices are good :)

All of these franchises deserve recognition for being the best IPs this gen.

If I had to pick one I'd have to go with Assassins Creed with my second choice being Batman.

Hmm. It's between Mass Effect, and Batman Arkham games for me.

It's hard to decide.....Mass Effect, Bioshock, Batman, too hard :cry:

I might vote Bioshock because I feel it has more political and social themes which most games do not tackle these issues or ask these questions. Unfortunately I don't think most gamers do either. Bioshock is one of the most important games ever made.

The only one of those I didnt dislike/utterly dispise is Batman Arkham City, so I vote for that.
