Best Limited Edition?

Whats your favourite Limited Edition of a game. It doesn't need to be the game itself, but the overall package (include pics if possible) and tell me why it is your favourite limited edition.

I'll start first:

ALAN WAKE:

Packaged as if it was a book, Alan Wake's limited edition is soo good. It includes the usuals (Sountrack, the making of DVD) but it also includes brilliant book that expands the game very well. The Packaging is totally awesome, and the music is pure awesome.

the best LE/CE iv seen was the german Stalker:CoP CE, it came with a few bits and pieces including an awesome zippo lighter.

Fallout 3 . I got the bobblehead in the front panel of my car, gave the lunchbox to a cousin of mine

Despite how Warhammer Online turned out, I really like the limited edition.

Bioshock 2 mainly because of the vinyl soundtrack LP , the posters with hidden messages are cool too tho

Fable 3 and Alan Wake by far

I'm a huge CE/SE purchaser so here's the official report. :P

- World of Warcraft - any of the games. If Blizzard makes a Collector's Edition then you should get it. It's wonderfully packaged and is bloated with content.

- Alan Wake. Wonderfully presented with really, really worthwhile content. The in-game commentary is awesome and, again, IT'S A BOOK!

- BioShock. It has the content of a $80 or $100 dollar Special Edition but only cost $70.

- BioShock 2. Incredible presentation with the 2nd best artbook I've bought (Lich King's is... king). Come to think of it, that game kicks ass. - God of War III. Badass box (albeit a little cheaply produced) with great content. The DLC still has me playing 'cause it's so hard!

Bayonetta Climax Edition. I paid over 100 bucks to import this sucker. Well worth it.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Limited Edition



A true limited edition that saw only a limited release (a few thousand copies through one distributor as a pre-order; ebgames.com). Not only did it come with everything that made Subsistence fantastic... but a limited release of "Existence", a theatrical cut of all the cutscenes from the game and "Metal Gear Saga: Vol. 1" a "making of" of the Metal Gear Solid series.

I paid $50 for it WITH shipping when it came out (I still even have the original order receipt). Goes for anywhere between $100 and $400 USD on the internet, both used and new.

Only downside: You get a censored version of Corruption. :(nintendoboy16

It's all relative. Mostly.

Anyway, I'd say this is the most worthwhile Limited Edition I've gotten my hands on.

The presentation is marvelous, it's a damn book, and it's a damn book, a proper one. 130 pages, with actual text on them, written from the perspective of characters from the game, not just an artbook you'll flip through and forget about. Not a coin, chip, patch or some similarly useless drawer garbage. Work went into this. Like, the book has a cover (with fake review quotes and **** on it), if you take it off, the actual hard cover has a familiar symbol on it. Hell, I bet the barcode is some cipher for something (X164284401). So the book's great. And there's the usual soundtrack. And bonus disc, which I might actually check out for once. Also you get Alan Wake's autograph on the inside of the "book".

Second place would go to Bioshock or Forza 3. They're both kind of borderline alright. Still haven't taken a look at the bonus disc, perhaps because I ended up not really caring for the game. But the Big Daddy figurine redeems the package. Forza 3 has a bunch of little aspects to it which combined makes it feel acceptable.

Worst limited edition: Street Fighter IV

Star Wars: The Old Republic. It hasn't even been announced yet, but I know it will be awesome when it is. Also, I'm not getting it but...

I like Metroid Prime Trilogy, Bioshock, and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots limited Edition.

I don't know the price elsewhere, but Swedish people who buy that Reach thing are straight up dumbasses with more money than sense.

I don't like when the game come's in it original packaging with lots of extra's like fallout 3 or Bayonetta.

I like the game to come in a steel case or just be different from the retail one I like Oblivion, Forza 3, Gears 2, Mass Effect 2 and Alan Wake collector's editions.

I've bought 3 so far this gen: Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Alan Wake. Fables was lame, the other 2 are way cool...

Yeah, for a history buff like me I couldn't pass it up. Especially considering I waited almost a year and found the CE at the same price as the standard edition. :o
