Way back a magazine called EGM had this category at the end of the year and I thought it was a great idea.
So in your opinion what is a game that you think is great that it seems no one is buying into...from this gen.

Runbow was the most fun multiplayer game of last year; more fun than Rocket League, more fun than Halo, and more fun than Splatoon, yet it sadly did not get anywhere near the recognition that those games got.
It can be played both online or locally with friends of up to 9 players, it offers multiple modes of play, it has gameplay that is simple for anyone to pick-up and play so everyone can join in on the fun yet also offers enough depth to reward skill plus has innovative mechanics such as the color mechanic, and it just oozes with charm.
Everyone of my friends who I've introduced to this wonderful game has fallen in love with it and it has received great reviews across the board from people that played it. It deserves more sales and recognition than it has received.
I would say Ori and SOMA. Both great games that didn't get the spotlight they deserved. They did decent, but the average gamer does not know about these games.
Ori got the recognition, it was even on some website's Top 10.
Critically acclaimed but not marketed much. I think a lot more people would enjoy that game if they tried it. It could have sold a lot more. Hopefully it gets a good push from MS with the definitive edition.
Probably Infinifactory.
Barely anyone has reviewed it. Heard nothing but good things about the game from those that played it. Havent played it myself, but I liked the developers' last game.
Broken Sword 5: The Serpent's Curse- Complete Edition. Brilliant story and return to roots gameplay. An underrated gem.
My sig pic.
True, I do still need to play that.
Zombie Army Trilogy, by developed and published by Rebellion...
I still need to play Sniper Elite III, but I'll do it any moment now because I love WW2 games. And we don't have a lot of those this gen.
Gotta say, Zombie Army Trilogy looks really dull to me. And that's coming from someone who loves WW2 and who loves shooting zombies.

Definitely agree with SOMA. More people need to try that game, even if they normally are not really into that type of game (like me)
I think a lot of people will be positively surprised with it.
@R4gn4r0k: It's actually a good bit of fun, and scales difficulty and challenge really well with multiple players, only issue is it's not very populated for multiplayer so you either need to know someone else with the game on the system you're on or cross your fingers someone else is online when you are. Still a fun game to play single player, but better with other people. Probably my only criticism is the price, it's been out nearly a year and still a full price game. Though, it was like $20 during holiday on sale I think or cheap basically, worth it then. I'd hope that Rebellion would offer it as a PS+/GwG title one of these months so people get a taste of what it has to offer and brings some new players to the game.
Hopefully Battlezone is a huge hit for Rebellion when it releases and brings more money their way, maybe they'll consider dropping the price of ZAT if/when that happens.
Hmm, can't say I've really played any unknown games this gen. Even small indie titles tend to get a lot of exposure these days.
I did pick up Undertale before it was a thing, but now that game has a religious following.
Yep, no hipster points here, I'm more mainstream than Sniper.

I heard that singleplayer is frustrating, as the game is really designed around co-op...
Zombie Army Trilogy did really well for them and so did the Sniper Elite series. I'm happy for them.
What is Battlezone ? Is it an MMO ?
@R4gn4r0k: Battlezone is an Atari classic arcade tank combat sim that use vector graphics to create a sense of 3D, now Rebellion is working working on the next gen version that will debut as a Sony VR title though I've heard will also be ported to other systems in near future as well
Stella Glow.
My man!
IIRC, you said you reviewed the game for a website? What are your thoughts about it? I've been pushing through it and have enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The game is freaking long and I'm at the end of chapter 10 ( I think).
@Bigboi500: I really liked it. The story is a bit cringy and fan servicey, especially at first, and the actual strategy required isn't that demanding or deep (though it gets better later in when things like direction really become important). But the mix of Fire Emblem and Persona style mechanics, along with stuff like direction of attacks, and just generally good map design, made it really addictive for me.
And yeah, it's s long game lol.

Totally agree with all that. The story (so far) has been fairly predictable, but in a good way for the most part.
@Bigboi500: Yeah, the story is never bad. It's just not good either lol.
It is such a good game, it's a shame so few people know about it.
Child of Light, the soundtrack, the battle system, the atmosphere, oh wow so good. And never really talked about.
Of all the great games released last year I think that Dying Light was incredibly underrated. That game is fucking great
wut? Far from it.
Its techlands best selling game (sold 4.2M copys) and got good/great reviews an all major game sites.

The game has great art style and turn based combat agree!, my only complaint is the pc version is unstable it crashes do to u-plays drm.
@khoofia_pika: @charizard1605: @Bigboi500: Never heard of this game till now. Checked it out on their official site and it looks like something I could get behind! I'll put it on the list of games I need to consider purchasing soon!
The only problem is that it's a little costlier than most 3DS games, at $50. What doesn't help is that a lot of people haven't heard of or know much about this game.
@Zassimick: Yeah, it's really good! Definitely check it out. I think there is a demo on the eshop if you want to first be sure you'll like it, I believe.
Also, as khoofia pointed out, it is $50- but it's on sale for $25-$30 like every other week, so that won't be a problem.
To me it would be Shantae and the pirate's curse.
Best Metroidvania game I've played in awhile.
I've played Risky's Revenge and Pirate's Curse, and they're great games. I'm looking forward to Half-Genie Hero whenever that comes out too.
My picks are Rodea (Wii ver.), Azure Striker Gunvolt, Freedom Planet, Crimzon Clover, and Mushihimesama (though it's technically an old game). Out of those, Rodea is definitely going to be the one to show up on a Racketboy list in the future.
Kid icarus uprising. Of course we didn't get a sequel bc sakurai was forced by ninty to rehash smash again.

Loads of people played Kid Icarus: Uprising, it sold about 2 million.
And Sakurai never intended to make a sequel to that to begin with.
Not a Hero came to PS4 recently, but as far as I can tell I'm the only one who knows it. Game's boss.
Oh, I played that (and really liked it too).
