Best damage system in a racing game?

Just wondering what game everyone thinks has the best damage system.

So far I think it is Dirt 2, but i haven't played every racing game out there so I could be wrong.

You can deform the car in so many ways. Too bad I couldn't get the doors to fall of and trying to get damage on the top of the car is hard and requires some barrel rolls.

im going with nascar 2009 , pieces fly off the car lol , or forza 3 , gt5 supposed to be but bull on that line of garbage, that game is lame when it comes to wrecking , all you can see is scraps

Somewhere between Dirt 2 and F1 2010. Whatever it is, it's a Codemasters game.

Its probably some random PC sim none of us have ever heard of lol

The age old (1998 ) PC racer called Viper Racing. You could actually turn your car into a tin can in that game :P

Carmageddon 2 had pretty good damage modeling too (if not very realistic).

Simulated: Not Forza Motorsport 3 or Gran Turismo 4.5; some PC sim like GTR2 or iRacing.

Burnout Paradise has the best looking crashes, but iRacing has the most realistic. It's really no contest:

I would say GTA actually. Since you can get out of the car and look around, plus you aren't actually racing most of the time, you can actually stop to appreciate the damage model.

Does anyone know if Dirt 2 supports the new GT 2 Fanatec wheel?

Live For Speed's system looks very nice and realistic, definitely better than any other sim racer I've played.

i would say GRID or Dirt 2

Burnout is fun. That one.

Race Driver Grid cuz its has realistic car crashes like the wheel loses, bumper, spoiler, and also wind shield cracks.

Rigs of Road is a good game or program for the damage effect but hard to play. And if you set damage setting to high, Street Legal Racing is not bad. I have played a game about ten years ago called Viper Racing. It's good for it's time. But non of these games enough for me. I want very very realistic games.
