Be warned about the PC version of black ops 2 please (LAG FEST)

I'm sorry but the current state of the PC version of black ops 2 multiplayer is pathetic, I'm even thinking about getting the game on console instead because of the 10-20 times higher player base without the mind blowing LAG I have not seen worse in a game than it is now.

PC version might have the better graphics, but consoles for COD games have the better experience, this is a console game through and through, Battlefield is where it's at on PC.

get a better PC, plebian.

I'm pissed at the lag and it's not just me the whole room in multiple matches was talking about how bad it is atm.

You must have poor internet as I have no problems with lag playing on a 15/1 connection. I did have some gpu lag but that was solved by turning a few features off which were lagging my paltry 460 768mb ancient gpu.

Is it dedicated servers or P2P?

I imagine it's going to be the same as the last Black Ops. Every version of the game is terrible except the 360 version.

COD hasn't been worth buying on PC since COD1 and COD:UO

everything after that has been more twitch fests than anything which works really well for console games.

From my experience, there's always network issues on CoD when it first releases even on consoles.

So much for PC always getting the best version. But then again that wasn't true to begin with...

Only played a quick round of zombies, connection was good, but it seems that Zombies uses p2p, only matchmaking uses dedicated servers? If there's lag then the servers must be f*cked, but I haven't played MP.SaltyMeatballs

Just asked my nephew about this, he is into those COD rehashes for some reason and bought the game on PC. He reccons hes had no problems with the PC version. Check your internet connection/firewall rules.

Now all the console kids will be going around telling all their friends at school "but the PC version has LAG!" another untrue rumor for them to spread about PC gaming so that they can justify not having one. Like having to upgrade every month, PCs cant use controllers or be plugged into TVs, you have to spend hours installing a game etc. All because someone had a bad internet connection and decided to jump to the wrong conclusion.

MW3 was also laggy as **** on PC, but it was also laggy on system it released on. CoD is a laggy series, let's just leave it at that.

yup..and nobody found that rather odd.

Well Treyarch did care... World at War on PC was phenomenal. I loved it. The mod community was great, it was the first time we got zombies. Oh wow, just awesome. Ever Since MW2 it all went downhill on PC l0l0. I don't buy them anymore.

a bunch of differnent conversations happening on top of one another, like trying to have a conversation with someone on the far side of a large table in the middle of a crowded restaurant.

I only played two multiplayer games and there was no lag to speak of, but my ping was fine. Compared to Black Ops 1 at launch on PC it works amazing.
