@with_teeth26: sure, it's everyone's fault, not yours.
Now go and show me some evidence to show that EA are not pandering to a noisy minority of people who demand that all females should be portrayed exactly the same as men in everything.
Do you have any evidence that says they are?
But if someone says they would have preferred BFV to stay male only. It is a perfectly unoffensive and valid opinion.
But who would prefer such a thing?
I'm fine with women in a WW2 game, but why not do it in a historically accurate way when there were real women who served with distinction? Why feature some bizarre character that looks more at home in Fortnite with a robot arm and a katana? If they wanted to go that route, why not have a sci-fi setting?
vs
These are actual prosthetic designs from a century before WW2 vs what's in the game
@recloud: I havent read all the posts in here, has anyone flat out said they dont want women in games?
Not from what I've seen, but it's difficult to draw any other conclusion. I remember a lesser outrage when the accuracy of Black soldiers in BF WW1 was questioned. It appears as if women in shooters is an even bigger deal.
This is probably the most active thread on this board in some time. And the topic? Playable women in a Battlefield game. Why is this such an issue, and why are so many of you using faulty logic to form your "opinions." Because the majority of the justification behind being against the women characters are complete bullshit.
@goldenelementxl: So no then. If you draw that conclusion it speaks more to YOUR personal beliefs and bias.
Its the most active thread because of the hyperbole and conjecture being thrown around. Responses like yours are proof to that.
@recloud: I havent read all the posts in here, has anyone flat out said they dont want women in games?
Nope but apparently we are all scared of women.
well yes that is likely true however at least with me you havent even attempted to address my points but instead try to change the subject completely
@goldenelementxl: So no then. If you draw that conclusion it speaks more to your personal beliefs and bias.
Its the most active thread because of the hyperbole and conjecture being thrown around. Responses like yours are proof to that.
So tell me about my personal beliefs and bias. What hyperbole did I throw around? I asked questions and provided some info. This is one of the most active threads because gamers are shit and they like to bitch about stupid stuff. The problem is, anytime a social issue is thrown into the mix, 95% of gamers expose themselves as morons. How many people on Reddit, Youtube etc knew there were women who fought in WW2? The evidence is pretty damn clear by the comment sections that gamers are dumb. Then you come on this board and people say dumb shit like EA is pandering to a vocal minority. How can you say that with no evidence? All that tells me is that the poster, @GarGx1 would rather believe some conspiracy theory than play a game with women in it. Why would the developer and publisher of one of the top annual shooters alienate their fanbase, and face to lose millions just to please people that won't buy their game anyway? Do you hear how asinine that sounds? Or could it be that there were women in the WW2 and they thought it would be cool to showcase one of them in their reveal trailer?
It's not the developers fault that gamers are so shitty.
That is the problem. There is a bullshit agenda behind it. They are forcing things into the game that do not belong. I don't mind female soldiers in a modern war game, but not in a WWII game. It is out of place and they are being featured in the game for the wrong reasons. This also extends to all the cosmetic and microtransaction bullshit that is featured.
@goldenelementxl: I've shown evidence of a prominent Youtuber (conman pretending to be a feminist) who has had and continues to have, influence over decisions made in EA owned development studios, however there has been none shown to counter it.
ok.
your claim is that this is game is the result of feminists applying pressure.
I am telling you that its not
1. Tofu eating, sandal wearing hippy feminists are typically anti-war and anti-gratuitous violence what about that video game feels off to you as a platform for a hippy to slip in some agenda that women too can be aggressive killers?
2. a 3rd wave feminist is against making the female lead role basically a masculine expression transforming the female into nearly every masculine stereotypical trait of aggression and violence.
3. the video to me looks just like standard FPS war shooter ever created with the only difference being the lead has a vagina.
point being, aside from ONE person saying something in a video is not evidence of applied pressure, a femnist would like select Batteflied kill them all 100% of your game play, as a platform to express femisnist ideals
ONE PERSON....saying something in a video is not evidence of successful applied pressure on a developer for the developer to do something that the developer doesnt already want to do.
@goldenelementxl: Wow dude. Kinda proving my whole hyperbole and conjecture findings with that rant. Politics and gaming don't mix.
@goldenelementxl: Wow dude. Kinda proving my whole hyperbole and conjecture findings with that rant. Politics and gaming don't mix.
Who is talking about politics?
@goldenelementxl: not only that, the devs are just adding, you know, customization. And gamers are like "muh realism and accuracy", in a game where you heal behind cover after 10 seconds.
And yet they couldn't come up with any reasonable reason to not have women in BFV and it's already 9 pages long.
@goldenelementxl: Why are you mad?
I'm not mad. I'm also not talking politics. You are the one that came in to our interaction with your mind made up. And now your response is "why are you mad?" That's a very message board gamer response. It's probably better that you say nothing at all.
@goldenelementxl: Social issues arent political now? Could have fooled me. You're a far far far left person. It's probably better that you say nothing at all
@goldenelementxl: Social issues arent political now?
You should have stopped a couple of posts ago... Yikes!
Civil Rights are a social issue. Are you telling me that being pro/anti racism, sexism etc are tied to a political party?
@goldenelementxl: So a gif then. Omegalol. You're a far left person thats letting his political agenda spew over onto a gaming forum. You only look stupid denying this fact.

How common were British women soldiers in WWII? That is what is being featured prominently in the trailer due to their inclusive agenda....
https://www.pcgamer.com/battlefield-5-design-director-says-female-playable-characters-will-put-him-on-right-side-of-history/
Throw in a prosthetic arm, a sword, custom outfits, etc... and the whole trailer is ridiculous. It makes me think of Fortnite and not what I like about previous Battlefield games. Obviously, there is silly and "gamey" stuff that happens in BF, but they usually have a reasonable vibe to them that does not challenge one's sense of disbelief.
@goldenelementxl: We're not talking civil rights, bud. Were talking video games and pandering. There are many social issues that arent civil rights. But you know that right? Just another example of conjecture on your part. You should have just shut up.
@goldenelementxl: So a gif then. Omegalol. You're a far left person thats letting his political agenda spew over onto a gaming forum. You only look stupid denying this fact.
Except I've voted Republican a handful of times over the past 16 years. I'm not a member of either political party. Maybe turn off the CNN or Fox News or whatever it is you're watching and join us in the real world. You're rotting your brain. None of that matters here, yet the only person here bleeding politics and gaming is you.
Anyone who doesn't mind having women in BFV is a far left liberal to you? That's fucking nuts.
@goldenelementxl: "Its difficult to draw any other conclusion..." Lol!!!
I dont watch any news really.
@goldenelementxl: Wow dude. Kinda proving my whole hyperbole and conjecture findings with that rant. Politics and gaming don't mix.
Um
@goldenelementxl: You're a far left person thats letting his political agenda spew over onto a gaming forum
@goldenelementxl: Social issues arent political now? Could have fooled me. You're a far far far left person.
1 - I'm not far left
2 - You appear to be on the "right" by your definition of the "left"
3 - You're in a thread complaining about women in Battlefield
4 - You believe the inclusion of women in a game is pandering
5 - You claimed social issues = political. That's some backwards ass thinking right there
@goldenelementxl: Good lord dude... Can you not see I'm fucking around yet? You know, "drawing conclusions"? Using hyperbole? Conjecture? No?
@goldenelementxl: Good lord dude... Can you not see I'm fucking around yet? You know, "drawing conclusions"? Using hyperbole? Conjecture? No?
@goldenelementxl: I think I overestimated you. Nuance is dead.
The delivery needs a lot of work...
@goldenelementxl: Sienfeld. Now there was a show that had some nuance.
And masterful delivery. Well except for Jerry, he was just trying to not laugh for 22 mintues which is understandable. That supporting cast was second to none. Point is, your delivery needs work
@goldenelementxl:
Anyone who wanted it to remain male only. Perhaps they just enjoyed a game where it was all male avatars.
Are you being serious, or is this a joke?
2018 the year to be talking about possible sociopolitical messages in a game in which 100% of what you do is shoot at people.
world has gone to shit
Gone are the days of Redneck Rampage where we can heal by chugging beer and fire bullets from an alien boob gun.

i think you missed my point by a mile.
this game is not making any sociopoltical statement other than violence is fun

I still miss those old games though.

Excuse me, exactly where and at what point did I say I would not play a game with women in it? That is complete BS and hyperbole on your part and no one else's.
Will you all please stop trying to inject your own beliefs and political view points into my posts.
Now go back and actually read my posts, before jumping in to the middle of a discussion.
On the point of the prosthetic arm, which I posted a comment on and I'll ask you a similar question. Could those arms be used to manipulate a gun or two hand wield a heavy club? I don't actually care about the bionic arm in WWII thing, it's not important nor is the fact that they have female British soldiers on the front line but just think about what you're posting about for a minute.
@goldenelementxl: I've shown evidence of a prominent Youtuber (conman pretending to be a feminist) who has had and continues to have, influence over decisions made in EA owned development studios, however there has been none shown to counter it.

ONE PERSON....saying something in a video is not evidence of successful applied pressure on a developer for the developer to do something that the developer doesnt already want to do.
Read my fricking posts and try to comprehend them.
There are many, many examples of one person's influence having devastating consequences when the wrong people get behind and support them. Most are far worse than anything that could happen in gaming but never underestimate the power of one persuasive person.
Now tell me does this look like someone that has no influence over EA development studios
This is Anita at Bioware (an EA studio which I'm sure you're aware of) "with allies and friends" (her quote, not mine). Of course lots of political activists get to visit development studios and advertise the fact they've been there spreading their nonsense and lies, it something we see everyday....not!
EA are pandering to this non gaming, conman who is pushing the narrative that "everything is sexist, everything is racist and everything is homophobic", of that there is no doubt. Unfortunately she's doing it to extort money from a vulnerable group of people, who are convinced they are hard done by in the society in which they live.
I think your hang up is the why would they? I firmly believe that EA see this as a money spinning angle that will entice more women into buying their games, unfortunately they are doing it the wrong way and instead of trying to appeal to female gamers, they are appeasing a small but very loud non-gaming, misandrist, community of extremists. Can I prove this, no of course I can't but it is my opinion (like it or not) and we are talking about EA here, not some company known for its ethical decisions.
Once again, for clarity, to get it into your thick skull. I do not hate women, female gamers or female avatars in any game. Female gamers should encouraged as the more gamers, regardless of gender, race, religion or species, there are the more and better games we will all get.
@goldenelementxl: So no then. If you draw that conclusion it speaks more to your personal beliefs and bias.

the POSSIBLITY of evidence is not evidence
ONE person saying something on a video is NOT evidence that THAT person has influience over a developer.
stop wasting your time with useless not related evidence and points
I need to know how ONE PERSON is able to make developers do things that they do not want to do in the context of your claim. and yes that statement has a lot of holes that you can fly a lot of straw into but you should know I will not be tricked by it.
address it head on or you loose

Either you're not reading or just plain not comprehending.
There you go again putting word in my mouth. I didn't say "forced" I said "pandering", several times now in fact.
pander
(ˈpændə) or
pandar
verb
If you pander to someone or to their wishes, you do everything that they want, often to get some advantage for yourself.
1. (foll by: to) to give gratification (to weaknesses or desires)
2. (archaic when tr) to act as a go-between in a sexual intrigue (for)
n
3. a person who caters for vulgar desires, especially in order to make money
4. a person who procures a sexual partner for another; pimp
Bolded for clarity, in case you don't understand the meaning of the word in the context of my posts. Does that help at all in your understanding of what I am saying because you just do not appear to be getting it at all?
Still not sure what I'm supposed to "loose" (I'll assume you mean lose) here either?
ok.

and again
evidence of a person saying something in a video is not evidence that a developer is 'pandering'.
and frankly you dont own the IP, they should be allowed to do whatever they want with it without being concerned about your sensitive sensitablities
so try harder.
show us the LINK between a person saying something on a video and a developer 'panding' specifically to that person
