Axiom Verge announced for Nintendo Switch... Could this help it survive the Scorpio?

Could this be what the Nintendo Switch needs to help survive the Scorpio's wrath?

Considering Flopio will be DOA no, the Switch doesn't need anything to beat it.

Why are people constantly saying this. Scorpio isn't gonna slow down or kill the Switch, and the Switch isn't gonna slow down or kill the Scorpio. They are 2 completely different consoles. Anyone anticipating the Scorpio isn't saying "oh the Switch came out I'm good now I don't need the Scorpio" or vice versa. Switch can't play 4K, can't play UHD movies, doesn't even have apps yet. Scorpio can't be played on the go isn't portable, doesn't have Nintendo's 1st party. Stop comparing them and thinking one will cancel out the other.

This is like saying are Burgers gonna survive the wrath of steak. I love me a good steak, but that is not gonna make me not wanna have me some juicy ass burgers too. (too be honest I kinda like burgers more cause of all the toppings I put on my burgers.) But I will still mess up a good steak.

The switch is dead on its own anyway, so 2 or 3 year old indie games everyone has already played on other platforms isn't going to do anything.

This fantasy that the Scorpio is somehow in competition with the Switch is only coming from fans of the Scorpio. Totally different target audiences, with no impact on each other's success.

Who is this mythical Switch customer who thinks, "OohI I was going to buy a Switch and play Mario and Zelda, but never mind because I can spend hundreds of dollars on an upscale Scorpio instead but wait! I can get Axiom Verge on the Switch! THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!"

Don't really care how this effects the sales in relation to scorpio to be honest. I'm just happy this is coming to Switch.

On a side note, for anyone who hasn't played this game, it's a treat. Classic metroid. Some might say inspired by, some might say ripped completely off. But if you can't wait for your developer to finally do the game you want, in this case, a 2D Metroid, make it yourself. See also: Konami and that forthcoming Castlevania rip off.

Considering Axiom Verge is already on Xbox and Xbox has a vastly superior metroidvania game in Ori and the Blind Forest. So no, no it wont

At this point, I don't think anyone really cares if the Scorpio would outrace Nintendo Switch and Scorpio isn't some kind of next-gen console anyways, it's an upgrade Xbox One console.

I think people are over thinking Switch vs Scorpio. Yes, they are both new systems that released in the same year (assuming Scorpio doesn't get delayed), but that's where the similarities really stop.

Switch needs a lot more exclusives now. Switch is selling well in Japan, but how is it doing in Europe and US? Considering the Switch is 9th gen it's currently beating Sony and Microsoft right now. Nintendo isn't even in the 8th Gen race anymore. They bowed out and ended up in last place.

I think the other games coming and the console itself will help the Switch survive.

Yeah.. more exclusives are coming though. They should really keep Gears, Halo and Forza off of PC.

LOL, sorry but the Switch has games, all games that will be announced on Scorpio will still be playable on the Original Xbox One. If PS4 Pro sales are slow compared to the cheap PS4 Slim, why would anyone want a mid-gen upgrade if they don't do anything new other than catering to hardcore fanboys that have 4k tv sets?

It's not really the kind of game that would sway consumers one way or the other.

Already bought and finished Axiom Verge on the Wii U. Good but wasn't really amazed by it. The wide array of weapons you could collect didn't do that much for me I guess.

LOL, I love my Xbox, but even I can admit that Microsoft dropped the ball on exclusives! Games sell no matter what! To quote Yamauchi "You buy a Nintendo Console to play Mario" which it is true!

What Xbox exclusives is there? I only see Halo 5, while the rest are on PC

Gears of War 4, Recore, Sunset Overdrive, Forza 6, Forza Horizon 3, etc.

All you listed are also on PC, except for Sunset Overdrive, yes even Forza 6 as well despite being a F2P model w/Apex! LOL

I have the game for PlayStation 4. Axiom Verge wont help the Switch much.

Computers are annoying though.

Hollow Knight seems to be better and is also a recent game that isn't on other consoles, just PC. That one would probably be more helpful than the old Axiom Verge.
