Do you really want to install 50gb onto your hard drive? :|
Besides, since MGS4 is mainly a single-player driven game, there would be a lot of piracy.

Its 50gb because of the uncompressed audio. Compress it and the game would probably be around 8gb or so. You must not understand how much space uncompressed audio takes. The game isn't big because of the graphics, animation nor game length. Its because the audio.

Are you mad? You're telling me that uncompressed audio takes 42gb? Please, go over your facts. Audio, uncompressed at that, would only take about 5-10gb at max, maybe 15gbs at most. :|

I'm not mad, I'm smart enough to know how much space uncompressed files take up. Why don't you get a audio program and see for yourself. Save as uncompressed audio and see the size, then save the file as a wmv, mp3 and lower the quality and you will see how much less space it takes. MGS games are filled with audio and I would say that the audio is probably maority of the game. Now factor in the length of this audio and voice overs and you get your answer why the game uses the entire disk.
I am fairly sure it will come on the pc, if the ps3 sale are not good enought.Franko_3
i don think the sales will be lacking

50gb is nothing, I'm sitting on a 680 gb HD.
To the thread question, no, if it was, I think it would be a crappy port, however, it would be nice.

Lossless audio takes up a lot of data...[QUOTE="AgentH"]Forget it. PS3 exclusive. And playing MGS on keyboad and mouse is like playing RTS with controller.kage_53You can use the Dualshock 3 as a PC gamepad. Or a 360 controller, OR any of the other thousands of PC compatible gamepad controllers.

The PS3's survival depends on MGS4.
Do you think Sony would allow it to go to other platforms?
SpinoRaptor
I don't think they have a choice in it? Unless they are publishing the game?
Metal Gear Solid 2 went to Xbox and PC in the form of MGS2:Substance.
On PC it was impssoible ot play withotu a gamepad though :(

Money Talks.

Well, since hard drives are pretty cheap-ass hardware these days (many people have 1 terabyte now), it sure aint an issue.
I bet in the really unlikely case that it actually got ported to PC, it would probably take less time to install thant Geas -_-.TanKLoveR
Regarding your sig:
Go Netherlands :P

So, if money talks, wouldn't it for sure go to x360 then? Since Microsoft seems to be the ones paying huge money for games?
If it was going to another paltform it would msot liekly be 360. However, you would have a better chacne of seeing Gears 2 on PS3 than MGS 4 on 360 or PC.

Gears 2 is published by Microsoft.
MGS has a history of showing up on PC, and isn't published by Sony. I think that's the difference.
Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2 went to pc, and of course, Metal Gear was for the Commodore 64 and the PC.

Nothing this gen could surprise me after Star Ocean 4 was named an x360 exclusive, so, if it did, I wouldn't be surprised.
People think it's a Sony franchise, but, it's not really, it started out as a PC/c64 franchise really.
