Do you really want to install 50gb onto your hard drive? :|

Besides, since MGS4 is mainly a single-player driven game, there would be a lot of piracy.

Its 50gb because of the uncompressed audio. Compress it and the game would probably be around 8gb or so. You must not understand how much space uncompressed audio takes. The game isn't big because of the graphics, animation nor game length. Its because the audio.

Are you mad? You're telling me that uncompressed audio takes 42gb? Please, go over your facts. Audio, uncompressed at that, would only take about 5-10gb at max, maybe 15gbs at most. :|

It wont be as big as Age of Conan even ( 32 GB ) ... who cares, the standard now is 500 GB HDD's anyway.

Wrong.

What do you think takes up all the space? The graphics are nice but they sure aren't amazing, the ground and building textures are pretty average.

ChrnoTrigger

I'm not mad, I'm smart enough to know how much space uncompressed files take up. Why don't you get a audio program and see for yourself. Save as uncompressed audio and see the size, then save the file as a wmv, mp3 and lower the quality and you will see how much less space it takes. MGS games are filled with audio and I would say that the audio is probably maority of the game. Now factor in the length of this audio and voice overs and you get your answer why the game uses the entire disk.

50gb is nothing, I'm sitting on a 680 gb HD.

To the thread question, no, if it was, I think it would be a crappy port, however, it would be nice.

You can use the Dualshock 3 as a PC gamepad.

Or a 360 controller, OR any of the other thousands of PC compatible gamepad controllers.

bah i have a a terabyte of memory(1000 GB), but i doubt this is going to PC... its ps3 exclusive deal with it, and if it ever does get ported, which i highly doubt, it wont be for a very... very very very long time! it stays where it belongs, ps3!

To be frank... I actually would think it would be best on PC.

The game's controls are so overdone for a console controller and MGS 4 tries to streamline it some, but frankly... the controls have always been so overdone I felt they belong on PC at times....

The PS3's survival depends on MGS4.

Do you think Sony would allow it to go to other platforms?

Yea, for all fanboy fights about exclusives, the pc sure steals alot of them, being the niche has it's pro's.

Saves me from having to buy a PS3.

And im sure the audio can be compressed, and it could be multiple DVD installation - like Age of Conan and Flight Sim x

If it was going to another paltform it would msot liekly be 360. However, you would have a better chacne of seeing Gears 2 on PS3 than MGS 4 on 360 or PC.

Gears 2 is published by Microsoft.

MGS has a history of showing up on PC, and isn't published by Sony. I think that's the difference.

Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2 went to pc, and of course, Metal Gear was for the Commodore 64 and the PC.

Nothing this gen could surprise me after Star Ocean 4 was named an x360 exclusive, so, if it did, I wouldn't be surprised.

People think it's a Sony franchise, but, it's not really, it started out as a PC/c64 franchise really.
