So quite a bit of System Wars has a hard on for Platinum Games especially when it comes to Bayonetta, Vanquish, and the upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Yet there has been little talk of Platinum Games' other upcoming release, Anarchy Reigns. And by upcoming, I mean tomorrow, January 8th. So why aren't you guys going apesh!t yet!? It's f*cking Platinum Games! Oh and did I mention that it retails at only$30!?

ANARCHY REIGNS is an online multiplayer brawler, from the makers of BAYONETTA and VANQUISH, PlatinumGames.

Set in the post-apocalyptic future, this is an over-the-top close combat fighting game, set in a massively open and fantastical world. Pick from an imaginative mix of human and cyborg characters and set out on a multiplayer challenge where anarchy reigns.

With a diverse range of multiplayer modes on offer, ANARCHY REIGNS pits players against each other in team co-op or last man standing battles.

Features:

Multiplayer mayhem
Creativity and violence are rewarded in this online brawler, as you battle to become the ultimate survivor. With over 8 different characters to choose from, each with their own unique style, weapon, and signature kill move, this is the ultimate survival of the fittest.

Various modes
ANARCHY REIGNS provides a variety of multiplayer modes to cater for different tastes. The list of modes includes Battle Royale, Death Match, Survival Mode and many more.

Single-player, two characters
Play either as Jack or Leo in the ultimate survival of the fittest. In true PlatinumGames form, each character brings a unique style and feel to the single-player Campaign mode, providing over 10 hours of gameplay.

Action trigger events
A.T.E. (Action Trigger Events) system triggers real-time events such as The Black Hole, a plane crash, blitz bombing etc to provide a constantly changing gameplay environment. No two matches will ever be the same.

I'd probably suck at this game.

I'll say 5.5 or less, it just doesn't look that good.

I am not a fan of how this game looks. But gamefly is sending it to me right now so I shall play it. It looks decent enough.

As for game discussion, all I can offer is it makes for entertaining background gameplay footage for short stories.

No surprise, there. The man is a talent at sales pitches and for marketing anything; just listen to his famous The Real Fridge Locker and The Real Grill Glove commercials.

Game is fun and cool, from the demo.

Every girl character has an infinite, which is cool too.

And riding on robots.

I might go out and buy it tomorrow or whenever.

I've been waiting a long, long, long time for this title's proper western release. I hope Anarchy Reigns lives up to what I want in this game...a current generation Phantom Dust online arena.

I think the magic will be in the 2 v 2 online. If not...back to my other fighters like SC5, MK9, and VF5.

Anyone can tell you I'm a SW and probably gamespot.com's biggest Kamiya fan, but the man can only direct one game every few years...He's also not directing Bayonetta 2, but he is directing and creating Wonderful 101. He got my attention when I completed RE2 back in the 90s. 2001's DMC1 sealed the deal, especially after reading this inverview in Next Generation magazine (defunct) that I still have today. He had these bad ass Oaks on, I'll never forget it. :P

Well, I guess I'll just have to wait forever for a proper Phantom Dust 2. :(

Perhaps this game will be fun on it's own in a 2 v 2 scenario, I have a few friends that having been dying to play it w/me. :P

Played both single player and multiplayer for a few hours today and I'm definitely enjoying it.

Single player is kinda meh, only reason to really play it is to unlock characters and abilities for multiplayer but it's still fun.

Deathmatch and Tag Team Match are definitely my favorite modes as some of the larger games types can get really chaotic but that also stem from the fact that I'm still a little noobish at the game (some of these dudes definitely imported last summer considering their rank).

OST is pretty awesome.
