EDIT2: The poject is now fully funded with over $800k accumulated.

Harmonix introduces some new stretch goals with the next stretch goal being at 1.1 million ( which seem highly unlikely it reach there unless Harmonix allow for other funding ways like Paypal once the kickstarter is over ).

EDIT: Thought i would edit the thread with updates as the project is now at over $600k with 77% done.

For those who dont know Amplitude is coming back to PlayStation systems ( PS4 and PS3 ) thanks to Harmonix via Kickstarter and are asking for $775k to fund to the project and make it happen.

Hamonix started their kickstarter for only 18 days ( 3 days left for it ) and the campaign is starting to get going but earlier today Insomniac games came straight up and backed the project for some massive amount of money ( $7500 ).

lets make it this happen guys! this was the first project i back!

sony's Shuhei Yoshida was also a backer for this campaign.

currently the project is at 62% done with only 3 days left.

Glad sony hopped on board and they're not stone walling the project.

Nonetheless this will not get funded.

Im seriously thinking it will be funded i mean earlier today it was less than 400k and look at it now almost there to $500k.

According to the trends and other sources that track kicstarter projects it's not looking too good

http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/harmonix/amplitude/#chart-exp-projection

It's expected hit hit anywhere from 550-700

the project is gonna fail anyway, they are asking too much and they still have like 300k left to do in 2 days. The game sold a shit ton back in the day on the PS2 but it was probably to casuals and I bet they don't know that kickstarter even exists.

Thats depressing im seriously still hoping for it to get funded, a lot of people are upping their pledges big time i mean its not just a small increase but a lot are going from $20 to over $100 for example.

been refreshing the page every half hour since yesterday lol

Weird that it's only for Playstation platforms. Should've at least included PC. I think that would've given them a significant boost.

Cool move by Insomniac.

According to Harmonix and Sony the game didnt sell well on PS2 ( they wrote everything in the Faq area as Hamonix were covering the part on why Sony is not funding this project and Harmonix straight up said that despite the games getting high scores they didnt sell too well on the PS2 hence why Sony is not funding this project as its risky but they will help Harmonix with other resources if the project gets crowd funded).

everything is explained in the FAQ section.

The IP is owned by Sony.. no way it will appear on anything other than Sony's platforms.

again they explained everything in the FAQ area

They need a real deal massive donation to make this dream come true. Sub 1% isn't really massive at all. There are individuals that could come up with 1%. Not that big for a multi-million dollar company.

No, this is like an advanced purchase you pay for the game and help fund it then you get it later with no extra charge once its released ( since you already paid for it ).

Sony will help them out with other resources once its funded but Sony does not want to risk things and fully fund the title thats why Hamonix is going through crowd funding.

few Sony employees already helped back the project like Yoshida for example.

Sadly i dont have anything solid to provide as thats what i been reading from people discussing about that topic from different sites and its what i gathered from this site when they say the built in support for the game comes from the PlayStation team.

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.850415-Amplitude-Isnt-In-the-Cards-For-PC

i been reading a lot of comments and people discussing about this game so its what i gathered tbh

whats solid is that Sony's employees and other gaming companies want this project to be true which is great.

Sure sonys employees and everyone else can fund the game and it's great they're supporting. But It doesn't mean sony is going to come in and help development once it's fully funded.

Why does a rhythm based game need an HD remake? I say just release the original amplitude on psn, steam, and xbox live and use that to fund a sequel.

Either way I don't donate any money to crowd funding unless I get a percentage of the actual profits from sale of the game.

From the link "The built-in support for Amplitude obviously comes from Team PlayStation.. the original was a PS2 exclusive, after all - and so it's hard to gauge how much of an impact the promise of a PC release would have on its fortunes"

from what i gather Sony will have some sort of a hand on the game once its fully funded ( unless they are specifically only talking about the past games which dosent seem likely from the quote )

its either Sony will help out somehow after its funded or Sony will completely not touch the game period ( seeing how not only 1 but two games didnt do well on PS2 ).

I don't understand why they have the kick starter available for only 20 days or so. Such little time for a large amount of money.

Up to ~$595,000, the momentum keeps building. Need 180k with over 2 1/2 days to go, and they made over 150k today. I'm thinking the nay-sayers on this one better prepare to eat crow...

I can see them just making it. I've seen kickstarters that raised a helluva lot more money in record time than what this game needs (Armikrog comes to mind).

Same here i can totally see them make it before time runs out i mean they've raised over 100k yesterday and are now at 600k so almost there.. from what i understand the closer the KS gets to its ends time the more higher the funding gets.

It's at $656/775 with two days to go. I think it's going to happen as it's gained more than $200k in the last two days.

Odd that they'd make a Kickstarter for this.

It would have been more successful had they just released a new IP to succeed Amplitude. And also, Frequency was the better game.

I guess they probably stuck with Amplitude because it would probably be easier to license music they want as a Sony IP

Frequency people will also be working on this game ( you can check their UPDATE page to see how many developers jumped to make songs for this project )
