no no no and no, ive played halo 3 a lot of hours and its no where near the best franchise, its simplicity is what draws people in, i would rank most of nintendos staple franchises above it, mario, zelda, metroid, those franchises have been around a lot longer and have still found ways to make the games good

IMO they should all of gotten AAA. But anyway imo its either The Elder Scrolls, Metal Gear Solid, Halo or Grand Theft Auto. Oh yeah, and Half-Life. Theres too many to choose from :(
it's not just a rehash of the last game .. sure storylines can be a bit similar at the simplest level, but there are layers of depth on top that make them epic
level design is always great, so are graphics and sound

Maybe because it was a gameplay-wise spin-off of the series, as the main games are rail-shooters. In Japan the game is called AZEL for the main character, and that story canon has concluded. So there's no point of a sequel.

This is obviously going to differ greatly depending on the gamer but in my personal opinion I would say that the Metal Gear franchise is my favourite. Grand Theft Auto and Elder Scrolls are a close 2nd and 3rd.
theres more to the world than just NA so Halo isnt the best AAA franchise, id say FF or GTA, no games can dominate across all regions in scores and sales like they do
