All said and done, at this point in the gen, which console is better in your opinion, PS5, or XSX?

The last year I would say I've played Xbox more but can see that changing this year.

I bought all system (PC, switch, ps5 even steamdeck and rog ally). I didnt bought xbox as i can play play its game on pc and handhelds. But i havent played on ps5 too for almost a year now. Still i would choose ps5 due to its exclusive.

Gotta say I prefer both the old Xbox UI as well as the PS4 UI.

PS5 UI, ok it has that HDR and it's pretty snappy moving from say the store to your library to the media, there is thought put into it.

But I would honestly say that for both Xbox and PS5 going back would be going forward.

I played my PS5 for 1126 hours last year

I played my Xbox series X for 44 hours (that includes my son's minecraft for switch)

As someone who owns both, I have to go with the PS5.

• I like the Dualsense controller. It is a huge step up from the PS4 controller.
• With the stellar PS4 library and ever growing PS5 library, I have more games to play on the PS5 than I could play in my lifetime.
• I prefer the PS5 UI over the xbox UI.
• I do like day 1 games on GP, so Xbox leads there.

Games like Returnal, Horizon, Spiderman, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, Days Gone, Uncharted, Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy VII Remake and FF VII Rebirth, and The Last of Us are all amazing games. Yes, they tend to stick to 3rd person adventure games, but that genre works for me.

Just my opinion of course. I give the PS5 a hard time due to how amazing the PS1-4 were so I hold them at a really high standard. That said, the PS5 is a really good console with a really strong library of games.

I just want it simple. Like Nintendo. When UI's throw all kinds of shit in your face, ads, news, DLCs, whatever, I tend to get annoyed.

Here's Nintendo:

Greets you with your library. You can change into smaller icons so you see more of your games at once. If you want extra stuff, it's at the bottom.

Meanwhile, Xbox greets you with different sizes of icons, ads for gamepass, ads for some random games available on gamepass, ads for Call of Duty, ads for their new controller, randomly placed friend and store icon, etc. It's quite the mess. Maybe you can customize it into something more acceptable? Doubt you can remove the ads though.

I didn't feel like the Xbox One lived up to my hopes, so I was waiting on the Xbox Series to provide something attractive to me before I bought one. That could still happen, but for now, between the two it's PS5. I hope the Series will get there for me.

prefer the ps5 overall. feels a bit more high end, i prefer the controller, the UI, and it has demon's souls. the xbox i like, it's really nice to sit down and flick through gamepass and pick a game to play. once these ms studios start producing and beefing up the library i'll get a lot more use out of it

@Macutchi: the controller alone tips the scale over to ps5 for me. Could never get comfortable with xbox controllers.

what a stupid poll. The xbox has moved beyond console, its already a PC/Console/Mobile, and when you look at it from that lens, its already leaps and bounds ahead of the ps remaster station.

That makes perfect sense to me the top 10 most played games on both Xbox and PlayStation are basically the same titles, So you could choose a controller/ecosystem that you prefer and that will be something you use every time you play or you can compromise on that preference for the odd exclusive title almost all of which are relatively short lived and will only occupy a relatively small fraction of your play time.

If I was forced to game on one and had a choice, id go with a PS5.

These days, I don't use a console as often, but between those, it's easily the PS5. I like the controller better (though I think the Dualshock 4 is better), and it just has more games although everything comes to PC eventually.

to me it is. but I play mostly on ps5 so that might be why.

2023 was one of the best years ever due to 3rd party games being so good. What are talking about?

yeah 2023 was good but before that unfinished flops after unfinished flops. except for remakes like res 2 and 3.

Playstation for me. Better console, better games, better controller. The main screen is the only thing i feel like is a down vote. I prefer the PS4/3 than the PS5 one tbh.

PS5 for me and it isn't close. The XSX doesn't really have a single advantage outside of BC with some 360 games.

The PS5 has the better games overall and that's the biggest thing to me.

Been a Chiefs fan since I was 9 and that's not changing now. Go Chiefs!
