All PS4 Games May Work on the PS5 even ones not whitelisted by Sony. (rumor)

So if you get a PS5 just sell that PS4 since you won't need it anymore no more clutter, no more switching systems in and out this is for the consumers.

The 100's of millions of playstation 4 gamers YOUR GAMES move with you to the PS5, your digital library and your physical library. There is no reason to switch xbox x-series your games wouldl not come with you there. So you are tied to sony eco system just like iPhone users want to keep all there iTunes and apps on there and can't move to android.

This should give sony a huge lead next gen and tbH the war is already over especially were hearing Xbox Live isn't gonna be free and they took the 12 month plan and now its like 100 bux a year or something.

There's a distinct difference between what is actually serviceable, and what is somewhat eligible to sell to the user base. This is a severe wait-and-see.

About the ps5, well, that is how i wanted it to be and expect it to be, but knowing Sony, i wasn't sure if it would be like that. Now please release a 60fps/1440p/higher graphical settings patch for God of War. If they do this, i'll get the ps5 even if there's fuckall exclusives wise on launch.

Nice. Got some weird asian imports that I bought but haven't played yet. Would suck if those can't be played during PS5 early exclusive droughts. Stupid P5R, FF7R, WotF and FFX platinum run messing up my schedule. Not only grindy but took around 100+ hours each.

The PS2 and Played PS1 games

The PS3 played PS2 games and PS1 games.

And it didn't make you download the an emulated version it just ran off the system no frame rate dips are garbage like the xbox one which struggles to emulate good 360 games.

Xbox copied sony and nintendo they did BC way before.

If the library moves over that is entirely awesome... although also pushing for an all digital future... sigh.. I don't want to like it but it's hard not to like this move if true. That said I still do and will buy physical in most cases.

Possibly the first console gen for Sony where the architecture hasn't dramatically changed. I can see some rare compatibility problems similar to bugs you have on PC sometimes though.

This one is about the ownage of all the lemmings who claimed the PS5 will not play all PS4 games.

The fun part is that this claim the PS5 will play all PS4 games,which not even the xbox series X does,as Kinect games are not supported and Kinect either.

And Pedro damage control it by claiming no one wanted Kinect,something he can't prove and even if it was true,would not change the fact that MS force people to get something they drop entirely even from BC on hardware and software there are millions of kinect games and cameras on hands on xbox one owners including this place.

one thing that be good to have ps1 games work is the fact there be a cd player in the consoles again. ps4 did not have a cd player.

The PS2 was not fully BC, and it WAS dependent on SOFTWARE emulation. The later models of PS2 lost even more BC, and in fact were unable to play some PS2 games made for the earlier versions of the PS2 itself.

The PS3 initially had decent PS2-PS1 BC because it had a hardware solution, but very early in the lifetime it switched to a full software emulation solution - which was rather imperfect; and in the later half of its lifecycle it lost PS2 BC entirely.

Sony abandoned the scheme entirely with the PS4 - by choice; they developed a PS2-1 emulator for the PS4, but they used it to sell PS2-1 games instead of just allowing you to install the emulator and use it free like they did on the PS3 and PS2 for their BC implementations.

Sony dropped the ball. MS indeed pushed a rebirth. Nobody is claiming MS "invented" or "started" the BC trend, they are noting that MS re-introduced free BC. Which is completely true.

Because i know i was there in 2006 when the PS3 was BC with more than 7000 games from PS1 and PS2,and lemmings could not care less about BC,in fact the mantra around the internet for the first 2 or 3 years of the PS3 life was that the PS3 had no games.

When in reality it had PS3 ps2 and ps1 games biggest catalog of games for a single console ever,which MS try to imply recently with the seriesX and which is a lie as the series X is not BC with as many games as the PS3 was.

BC is a nice feature on launch if when few games are available and if you sold your PS4 or trade it in,2 years into the generation the PS4 was getting great games the xbox one was getting Red Dead Redemption from 360 which even spiked sales of the game for 360 and make it even chart.

That sad the xbox one was,something you will not find on xbox 360 if you look, at the same time frame back hell in 2007 Halo 3 hit,gears was already out,bioshock,ghost recond,oblivion,lost planet,saints row and many others.
