“Remedy is going to make Alan Wake 2 with Epic,” according to industry insider

It is, to be clear, March 31. It is not yet April Fool’s Day. Bear that in mind as I tell you that one of the more reliable videogame industry insiders out there says that Remedy and Epic are entering into a deal to make Alan Wake 2. According to the report, this is part of a new effort from Epic to help fund the creation of new PC games from the ground up.

Great news if its true. it will be one of few Third person game that made me excited.

I’d definitely be down for Alan Wake 2. Really enjoyed the first game.

It was better than any Resident Evil game.

Only third person horror game that has excellent gameplay and story thanks to Remedy.

Great news, Alan wake is definitely the best game remedy has delivered and I would definitely be pumped for a sequel!

alan wake was a waaay over hyped average game......a lot like every ps exclusive.

Played the game for the first time recently and it quickly became one of my favourite 3rd person shooters ever. Really happy that it might get a sequel.

I loved Alan Wake and this is great news for me. It represents a time back when xbox actually tried to beat Sony and Nintendo too and I was thinking they finally could stand beside them when they published the game. It didnt work out for xbox of course but still, great game.

I love Max Payne (all 3), Alan Wake and Quantum Break.

But I wasn't too sold on Control. It just lacked that thing to draw me in.

I've played MP 1 & 2, and don't need to play the trash version from the most overrated devs on the planet in R* and AW Remedy's best game from what i've played.

Well, the original was supposed to be open world to begin with, so I would bet that 2 will be at least semi open world.

Open world Alan wake would have sucked. What we got was fine version even people claim its downgrade.

I know, and them going linear was such a poor decision. Make the sequel what the original was supposed to be.

I liked Alan Wake, the DLC sucked though, except the stand alone American Nightmare which was more straight up nonstop action. By contrast in makes original game feel slow.

Anyhow, Remedy is starting to get on my shitlist over making Control gamers on Xbox double dip to get next gen version because Sony has no smart delivery system and they were likely bound to a parity clause that would have prohibited it. Eww and now EGS bullshit again, they might as well have put it on Apple store.

If Remedy isn't making Alan Wake 2 I would be concerned they have no excuses not to make a sequel anymore especially now that Epic is behind them with their Fortnight money.

One has to be publisher. better Epic finance and fund remedy or else waiting for game forever.

Microsoft wasted this ip and done nothing for over decade. infact this was microsoft best IP (not Gears and Halo).

Awesome, loved Alan Wake. Action was a bit simplistic but the atmosphere more than made up for it.

Control was mechanically solid I just didn't really dig the story/setting. Just not my thing.

I absolutely loved Alan Wake so that's great news. If they can maintain the same level of writing and atmosphere but also improve on the gameplay (which was mediocre at best in the first game) and increase the scope by making it semi-open world, it's going to be an amazing sequel.

Perfect for Sony systems. Cringe movie game with corny plots of writer's self insert fantasies that's not uncommon with low budget movies.
