2018 GOTY and overall GOAT. Can there be any doubt?

I can think of only two games that can give this bad boy a run for it's money....

Halo 6 and RDR2. :P

Can't hardly imagine how saaweeeet Sea of Thieves will run and look on Mighty X1X MonsterBox... baby!!!

Anyhooie, I'm just loving what I'm seeing on this game and Rare has a winner on it's hand me thinks and those who are in the beta, what's your thoughts so far?

New Sea Of Thieves Invites You To "Be More Pirate"

Rare's pirate game is still without a release date, but a new trailer has arrived.

A new trailer for Microsoft's upcoming Xbox One and PC pirate game Sea of Thieves has landed. The trailer invites players to "be more pirate" by showing off things like stealing treasure and drinking grog without throwing up. You know, be more pirate.

This video also provides a closer look at the game's nice-looking art style and gorgeous water, in particular.

Sea of Thieves was originally slated to launch for Xbox One and PC at some point this year, but at E3 2017 Microsoft announced the title would be pushed back into 2018. Developer Rare has confirmed that the game will allow cross-play between Xbox and PC players. The developer also added 540p and 15 FPS lock options to the PC version.

In other news, a Sea of Thieves art book from Dark Horse is on the way. Additionally, you can watch us drink a little too much in Sea of Thieves in this gameplay video.

Set small goals and then reach for the stars. Just concentrate on a non Forza Xbox exclusive scoring higher than an 8. Then hope for that GOTY you guys so desperately need. Your welcome.

Well, this game is Gimungus in scope and as you can see it's all game-play and no simple to make movie-game, walking/climbing sim and or corridor shooter sooo, just sayin. :P

Lol, well, lets be honest here, if the finest, most overflowing with phenom content, spectacular driving game on the planet, Forza Horizon 3, couldn't garner a 10/10 and GOTY than realistically, GS will never give a Xbox game GOTY But.... by no means is that that definitive and applies to mah own stellar VG reviewing skills... baby!!! lol :P

Finally got bored of people ignoring your responses in threads so you made your own eh?

I'm not in the beta but it seems it's Shaping up nicely, they should take their time and not rush it, game has lots of potential for something fresh, not that many good Pirate titles out there, let alone co-op ones. Graphics look nice and it will be fun seeing that ocean on my X.

It's a Microsoft exclusive. There's plenty of reason to be doubtful.

I might well get sea of thieves at some point (on PC not the peasant box lolz) but my hype is firmly in the 7ish range. You're racing for a crash here SP :D

Eh, make that a Win10 Exclusive and PC/Xbox cross-play to boot. So perhaps, just maybe, being on PC as well it will slip past the bias and mistakenly reviewed as though it's a PC game only and get a fair review. Hey, I can dream can't I? lolol :P

I think it will make a splash but I find it unlikely that it will win GOTY. Or any award.

I would probably hype it as an 8.

Also I'm not really expecting Halo 6 in 2018 seeing it hasn't even been announced yet but who knows. Quite frankly I am not even bored of Halo 5 which I fire up every once in awhile.

Sea of Thieves has the potential of being revolutionary and a game changer for MS and Rare to being a massive flop that is forgotten in weeks. At the moment I really can't say with any certainty which path its currently leaning towards but I have strong feeling it would be one or the other extremes.

I'm just doing some System Warring for the kicks & giggles. lol

Also, Halo 6 was announced way back when MS/343 announced the new Halo trilogy starting with Halo 4. :P

I'm thinking we'll see it at E3 2018 and launching Nov. / Dec 2018. :D

Ive been in the beta all year. It is another game that takes my time from me playing with people. Its what Xbox excels at imo. Social gaming. I love gaming with one of the crews from the group I am in. Now they have added small ships for people that want to play alone. Well have at it. You have a small vessel that is more agile than the normal ship but can be overpowered. I personally see no fun in playing alone but options are always welcome. Its just an awesomely fun social atmosphere that gets competitive as well. Looking forward to it.

Is the beta invite only?

That's awesome news broham. Not that I won't play with others but I think I will have a blast just exploring the big blue myself going where I want t go and see how long I can last on the high seas before being blown to smithereens. Lolol

A game that looks like it was made for the 360 for your 'Mighty X' lol. Was this originally meant to be a 360 title?

It looks like ass, the gameplay might be alright though. But GOTY? Let's just put that down as 'wildly optimistic' to be kind.

They're not called Pee Salty Seas for nuttin ya know. :P

Sea of Thieves is still in fact on my radar of 2018 and will be getting the PC version which by the way, I have no problem playing it through Windows 10.

Crackdown 3 still looks promising, bad graphics aside, I still think it could be a good game. (No pun intended)

Oh good, they added a bit more content. This game looked incredibly lame from what they showed before, but it's slowly building up to be something decent.

This is a game Nintendo can only dream about.

Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker is really the Sea of Thieves only no MP.

Because Sony does it with EVERY game...

Anyway, as cool as Sea of Thieves looks, I'm not a MP gamer so it doesn't really interest me. A cool SP campaign set in that world would have been sooooooooo cool!

As someone who took part in the Alpha on PC... Its got a 50/50 chance of flopping.

I was really looking forward to it, not so much now. Its not a deep MMO in anyway... Its more a survival games that plague PC but with Black Flags ship gameplay.

Will probably still get it. Also it runs flawless 4k/60FPS with 1080 Ti... Which makes sense as it looks pretty poor even when maxed.

I like pirates, but I am not excited for Sea of Thieves at all. Nothing I have seen has drawn me in.

Looks like fun but let's be real here, it's probably gonna flop.

This is the only MS published title I'm interested in for 2018.

And even after listing those, I'll probably just revert to starting the first 2-3 hours and then go back to playing OW, PUBG, and Destiny 2.

SoT looks really good in my opinion.

But pirates find treasure chests. Will MS let us open those chests for free or will they charge us for the keys?
