1UP impressions: Gears of War > Killzone 2, visually.

The presentation and attention to detail are key. The game doesn't look as good as the 2005 trailer, naturally, but it looks close to as good as any other console shooter. We'd say that currently Gears of War tops it, and a few other titles are on the same visual level, but the game looks extremely nice.

I don't think they compared both overall. IGN said in some aspects it beats Gears.

- Not to start a flame war or anything, but to bring into question 1up's reporting on this event.....HOW can they not include any mention of this in there report on the game? It seems like a pretty big thing for a dev to say (especially given the current battle going on).

Looks like damage controlling for some reason by 1up or just a lack of focus/attention to the event as a whole.

Looks great, but I think Unreal Tournament 3 looks better and Crysis of course goes without saying is far better looking.

Look at the screen on the last page of the IGN story page 3 you can clearly see the game is lacking in texture res, now I know some of the cows will say this is just because it's alpha, but really with only 256 mb of ram in the system I think we all know the PS3 is very constrained texture wise. While graphics generally get better as the devs become more familiar texture quality for the most part is very static from begining to end.

Oh, yes. Gears is FINISHED an KZ2 is FAR from being the fully done and polished work...geez the lemmings tonight are rediculous, they can't make any reasonable arguments and use stupid things for ownage. KZ2 must really threaten them since Halo 3 is obviously crap.

I thought i was alone in thinkin the screens dont look all that special, it appears dark and very grainy if u ask me. It certainly doesnt appear to have the clean crisp look of Gears that for definite.

Its certainly not a patch on the '05 E3 vid for absolute definite and anyone who claims otherwise is very clearly delusional.

Theres not even a slight chance, Crysis will obliterate everything just like last year and for anyone who wants to spew bu bu it's in Alpha well Crysis is still in alpha to! A guy at crytek said that just a few weeks ago.

You do know that 1UP's news network and Sony aren't on the best of terms, right? That's why they stopped making OPM and why OPM had, in their last few issues, not given PS2/PS3 games very good reviews?

This is definitely a good source of information. They aren't biased at all.
