Wow! A few of his reasons actually sound in line with what's being said here on the forums.

Two or three good points such as a strong first/second party line-up and price.
Personally, Wii-U would be a good price for the 64GB version with Super Smash Bros. for $200...but that's just me. In the end though, if you like what a console offers then it's worth buying.
I only have two reasons.
1. Nintendo 1st party.
2. Almost everything on the Xbone can be found on my PC or PS4 in better form.
I just have no reason to pick one up. Tecmo would have to kiss and make up with Itagaki, give him full creative rights and a ton of funding for a new Ninja Gaiden, and make it Xbone exclusive. That would bring me over and it's never going to happen.
The only one needed:
it currently has games to play
So do both the PS4 and Xbox
Yeah, thats true, but at the present the weakest console has the most high rated exclusives.
I can see a trend here, last gen the Wii had the weakest 3rd party support but won the Metagame hands down with it's exclusives, i see that trend continuing this generation and it's off to a good start with this gens only AAAAE

Yes,multiplats
which the wiiu doesn't have....
Don't get me wrong, I love my Wii U, hell I don't regret getting one last year over an Xbox One or PlayStation 4, but I'm feeling the need to branch out to something that will allow me to play those XBO/PS4/PC multiplatform games that won't be on Wii U. I still feel that the Wii U is definitely a console worth owning, it just won't be my primary gaming console, more like a must have companion console. After all, there's a many exceptional quality titles on Wii U that are simply too good to pass up.
As far as my support for the Wii U goes, I have 13 games for it so far, higher than even the best system achieves as far as attach rates goes. Last gen on the Wii I garnered a little over two dozen games for it. And I got like countless digital titles for both. I was well satisfied with it, it offered unique games I couldn't play anywhere else, even though I had many more games for my Xbox 360, I still cherished the Wii for what it offered. Anyhow, if I can get maybe another dozen quality retail games out of the Wii U over the course of its life I'll be more than satisfied with it.
As for the XBO and PS4, I think people have unreasonably high expectations of the console at this point. The PS3 and X360 barely had as many good games to play in their first year and IMO the line-up has far surpassed that of games offered at this point last gen. Xbox 360 pretty much had Dead Rising, Gears of War, Tomb Raider Legend, COD2, NFSMW, everything else was forgettable. PS3 had Motorstorm, great ports of Oblivion and Fight Night Round 3, and Uncharted, which I didn't particularly care for, but next to steaming turds like Resistance Fall of Man, Heavenly Sword, Haze, Lair, whatever I've already forgotten about, that so-so game looked like the greatest thing ever. Last gen's first year for each console was very underwhelming, second years though were a big pick-up for both consoles.
Anyhow, I get why pieces like this are written, they're there to say not to forget about or discount the Wii U, that there's something great for gamers to be had there.
its time for Time Magazine to go back to africa and actually do real stories

WE DON'T WANT YOUR STUPID OPINION.
Time and Forbes. Some of the brightest bulbs in journalism both know that Wii U is the place to be. Its a shame that the rest of the gaming world don't understand this. Even GS knows that its the only console worth owning this year. Yet it will always be met with blind hate.

He said almost, and you can play Halo 2 on PC also it wouldnt surprise if sunset overdrive ends up on PC
If you like Nintendo published content, then the Wii U is absolutely worth buying. Right now. Immediately. The hell are you waiting for?
If you don't, then save your money for something else. At this point, the system is a pretty much a Nintendo-only box.

Bingo.
Also, the only one of those games I'm even slightly interested in is FH2... slightly, as in even if I owned an Xbone I probably still wouldn't have picked it up.
ProtossBro, as it is, I have more platforms than I need. PC/PS4/WiiU/3DS have covered more than all bases for me. Can't find any room for an Xbone in my life.

its all good man u got driveclub or whatever right? what racing game u runnin that looks as good as FH2? ppl like racers right why settle for drive club or some older forza or somethin on ps3 last gen pc racers just dont cut it imo
Time and Forbes. Some of the brightest bulbs in journalism
LOL
you're joking right
please tell me you're joking

Haha, **** no man, never had a shred of interest in FiveClub. It's been months since I've even turned on my PS4.
I'm not really that into racers. The only racing games I usually play are Forza, Gran Turismo and Mario Kart. Forza is great, just not great enough for me to pick up another platform. For my racing game fix, Mario Kart and GT will do.
PC racers don't cut it? From what I understand, PC has the best racing games lol. Like I said though, it's not a genre that I'm all too invested in.
Not having the WiiU as your primary console for the best exclusive content money can buy makes no sense. The PS4 and XB1 I am sure are nice consoles, but they're PC clones meant to play multiplats, that's it.
Next year that will hardly be the case...well maybe still true for XB1

He has a PC, so he can play Assetto Corsa.
It definitely is the only choice right now in my eyes. The system has 10 legitimately good to exceptional retail games. 5 of which are some of the very best of their respective genres. Compare that to the 2-3 interesting games PS4 and Xbox One has right now combined... There's a BIG difference.
Having said that, if third parties get their shit together, then the twins will eventually outpace the Wii U in quantity. Quality will have to be seen.
Because when gamers go seeking reviews, they all flock to Time...
This is just silly. The wiiu is a fine system for what it is. It isn't very popular. Time's opinion on the matter isn't moving the needle one way or another and you have to know this on some level, so what is all this? Two years in are people looking to Time to validate their love for a console brand? If so, congrats: Time says you didn't waste your money. You can finally sleep now.
**** that noise
ps4/xbone may still be figuring themselves out, but its still a better feel and a better bang for your buck than the wiiu
THAT SAID, the 3DS is a great system
Only 1 gripe with his pro = off tv play lol ..its a console who cares if its portable...I want to play on big screen tv when playing on console...if I want portability there's already 3DS & this has butt load more games than Wii U. :P
He is right about the power, its very good for a system that only uses 34watts of eletricity. :P
list dont mean crap if I dont like your content. Again wiiu as of now has about 2 or 3 games i would play and its upcoming has about 2 games that I want if theres no delays zelda and X.
Nintendo is trying to preserve our precious earth with the greenest machines in the past 2 generations. Sony and MS with their 'Drill Baby Drill' machines should learn a lesson from them. Nintendo wants your children's grandchildren to still be able to play games. MS and Sony couldn't care less.
