1 Hour of Ryse single player campaign...SPOILERS

I have not seen this posted, but here is 1 hour of Ryse single player campaign. Graphically it looks good throughout the video, but things start to look very good around the 41 min mark, and really insane around the 45min mark. Do yourself a favor and watch at least that, if not the whole thing.

Admittedly, I've skipped alot of ryse news. I love the premise (ancient ROME is an amazing setting imo). I just watched ten minutes of it... Looks like a perfectly acceptable start to a franchise and a cool game to show off the new hardware... Im sure this one will be fun and the next one will be great. It's MS's launch Killzone...

All this talk about Ryse's graphics, I was expecting something mind blowing yet this is it? This is what all the fuss is about? Its not even funny how much better Kilkzone looks

Man oh man, the animations in Ryse LOOK friggen terrible!

Frames of animation are literally missing!

Thats unacceptable for graphics and for gameplay.

The combat in Ryse is already so barebones and uninspired to begin with.

But due to the buggy animations it wont even be fun to play for the first 10 minutes.

Combat in Ryse is so janky, soo unnatural, so off putting.

Thats why the combat in Ryse always looks like shit and just doenst look fun to play regardless of anything-due to the shit animations

Animation is one of the most important things to creating convincing graphics.When Ryse has the shit animations it does, IT CAN NOT BE considered for any type of graphics contender

The background scenery is so bland too. Little denisty, no great detail...and whats funny about that, is Ryse is linear and scripted to the extreme.

Its obvious why Ryse is as shallow, linear, scripted, and under-cooked as it is, to push "impressive" graphics with not too much demand on the weaker xbone hardware.

The backgrounds look like backdrops straight out of a 360 game.

I dont get the insane hype for Ryse's graphics.

Only the character models look great, everything else in Ryse looks like shit.

The combat looks like such utter shit too. Barebones, janky aninations, all the QTEs. Ryse seriously has the WORST "gameplay" of any combat game ive ever seen!

Im still really taken back by just how LINEAR AND SCRIPTED Ryse is too. I mean jesus christ, you are literally playing in narrow 2/4 spaces in Ryse.

Sorry but the reality is Ryse is such a huge JOKE! Not gonna sugar coat it.

All the xbox fanboys who were gloating about the PS4's low reveiws. You are in for some serious karma. Ryse is getting worse reviews then Knack.

If Ryse gets good reviews then that will be all the proof you need that there is a pro Microsoft agenda in gaming media. It will finally be exposed if Ryse which looks like complete shit gets good reviews.

@Douevenlift_bro: if you watched the video, that was the first chapter, which was just about an hour. There are 7 chapters.

Where was the great graphics? All I saw were great character models and nothing else.

Shitty animations, janky barebones combat heavily relient on QTEs, extreme scripted linearity, small bland environments lacking in detail etc....this is supposed to be what the xbone is all about....LOL...this is going to get good! Ryse looks like complete and total dog shit. If it werent an xbone exclusive, no would give two shits about it.

I will be VERY suprised if Ryse averages more then a 50 on metacritic. Reviewers better stay consistent and pan Ryse or the bias will become exposed

They spent like 90% of the development cycle on the gfx and only 10% on all other stuff combined.

The game looks amazing .... yet, i was skipping through the video, hoping I would find anything interesting.

Yeah I was being sarcastic. I don't trust when someone says "i played an hour and a half and BELIEVE I was half way through the game". Well I believe I'm half way to being the new God of War, but that doesn't necessarily make it so.

Not every game could be Deus Ex or Witcher.

Dude, crysis1 was 15 hours....

15 used to be short at the beginning of last gen. But by the end of the gen 6 hours became "long" due to console interactive-movie style games.

Its silly....by the end of this gen will games be 1 hour long and considered "too long"?

Huh, I only played Crysis 2 and 3, come to think of it I think Crysis 1 was more open world than those two were.

Not getting an Xbone but will watch anyway. I want this game to be good but I somehow doubt it will be good. Crytek :/

So I watched it, most of it atleast.

Lems were lying to me, the focus is on sword and shield, Spears are used as a ranged weapon which you can carry around much like arrows.

Games very pretty I won't deny that. Combat doesn't have me sold at all, lots of clunky animations and most fights seem like they play out the same as every other before it.

This is most certainly a Crytek game.

Finished watching it.

Game looks visually impressive. Great voice acting and it helps draw the audience into the story. The combat seems a tad repetitive but mixed a lot better than what was shown in E3. I was hoping for more weapon variety that you can actually wield but I could see why they stuck with sword and shield combat.

I think close combat would have much more variety if you could wield different weapons like in God of War.

My impressions also, graphics look great, everything else is a borefest.

they did gore much better. I hate how in Ryse when you remove someone arm it's looks like someone sliced a frozen ham in half.

God of war did brutality so much better than this, They really should have played that title a bit more.

Not only good visuals but sound design is fantastic. My better senses tell me to wait for a big discount but i might actually get this day one. I'm certainly intrigued now and dig the Spartacus meets 300 vibe instead of attempting realism and historical accuracy. I strongly believe there is entertainment to be had, just not $60 worth maybe. This might just sneak into my cart with the buy 2 get 1 free target or best buy deal if only to reward crytek for taking a chance on something a bit different (for them) and winging it after changing platforms and primary control scheme mid stream while playing with a narrow time frame. Its really good for what it is and how it got there just not quite the technical marvel it could have been with more time in the oven. Crytek does visuals right, that's their bag and this game almost shows it.

Agree. I think I may hold off till this can be had for around $30.

What ? This game is open world ? That's the first I hear of this, In what way exactly is it open world ?

GTA games easily exceed 12+ hours to complete. It takes way longer to get 100% percent. The Assassin Creed games also take around 11-12 hours to complete.

But I was talking about action games like GOW, those take 10 or more hours to complete as well. 6 hours isn't that great, and 3 hours would be the equivalent of Crytek spitting in your face.

I think the last feed they did mentioned turning off/down the blood. I don't know if that applied to this one or not but know it did with the multiplayer a week or two ago

i hear people say Halo ODST was 6 hours long and it only took me 3. With the only "confirmation" of length being longer than 3 hours that I've read coming from an MS employee, I'm not entirely sold.

It's even more fun when you think about how the average height of a Roman solider back then was 5'0 (1.52M). Ceasar at 5'3 (1.60 M) was considered tall. Basically a bunch of munchkins by todays standards running around killing each other.
