I'd have to say basketball with all the 7 foot freaks and some of those guys can do amazing feats of athletisism.

Basketball

Maybe American football, more diversity in skills, not just about size

The irony is that we've found out Football players actually hit harder and run faster. Apparently, sports doctors say this is probably because players feel more protected than they are, so they don't hold back as much as someone without padding or someone who understands the padding they have is not that great.

IMO Football should stop being played by anyone under 18. I played it for seven years and its had very long term affects on my body, one of them being the need for a replacement knee every 10-15 years.

I have to say Ultra Runners (Running anything over a marathon distance). I work at a sports massage business and we have several clients that have run 100 milers as well as a 200 miler! It just amazes me.

@narlymech: I'm more inclined to think the NFL. I mean, a 7 footer doing the things Anthony Davis or Giannis Antennokoupo is incredible too. But they're doing these things while wearing south of 260lbs or way smaller than that.

Something about seeing how fast and strong a guy who weighs north of 300 can be that defines freak, IMO. And it isn't all fat on some of these dudes.

Sumo, easily. It's one thing to be born tall, skinny or chubby and another one to actually gain a grotesque amount of weight just to practice a form of wrestling.

Then again, the topic says "Freaks of NATURE," which I guess refers to people who were born a certain way. In that case, I guess basketball.

Strongman. I don't compete but I do train for it, those guys are just immense examples of human beings.

Look at this year's WSM winner Eddie Hall, 430lbs of pure muscle and power. Zydrunas Savickas, a 4 times WSM, numerous Arnold classic titles plus a number of world records, Hafthor Bjornson and Brian Shaw 6'8 and 6'9 respectively 800lbs of muscle and power between them.

I could keep on naming names like Martin Wildauer, Mark Felix and more but I think you get my point.

The correct answer here is obviously football, no question. It has the fastest, strongest, most athletically gifted athletes of any sport, especially when considering the combination of all these traits. Plus not everyone can take the beatings they do throughout the course of a season.

Show me another athlete in any sport who is as freakish as Bo Jackson.

@Miyomatic: Lebron

And Bo Jackson was made of glass. Lebron is a 16-season vet who has played more postseason minutes than any active player by far and just completed all 82 games of an MVP-caliber season. I’ve never seen anyone like him.

Everyone in the NBA is at least an above-average athlete, but there are some that defy nature itself.

Basketball. 7 foot humans should not be as athletic as modern day NBA players.

I would say basketball and football because of the height of basketball players and the incredible size of NFL players.

NBA but if you take out the height factor then the award probably goes to world's strongest man. Alot of the things they do on WSM are ridiculous. Pulling semi trucks, 1200lb deadlifts, the log carrying, etc etc. Even other athletes in other sports look at the WSM competitions as a giant freak show.

After the NBA, WSM follows the NFL.

Football (American). There is no way people that large should be able to run that fast, but there they are.

Basketball would probably be next; the guys are so tall and fast, they really need to make the courts bigger, I feel like they get from halfcourt to basket in a few strides haha

Absolutely, basketball is a sport that showcases some incredible athleticism, particularly among the towering individuals who stand at 7 feet tall and possess remarkable skills. The way these athletes maneuver on the court, dunking, blocking shots, and moving with agility despite their height, truly highlights the extraordinary feats of athleticism that human beings are capable of. It's a mesmerizing sight to see these players exhibit their physical prowess and coordination in the context of a fast-paced and competitive game like basketball. https://pickleballopinion.com/

Definitely the strong man competition a human shouldn't be able to lift the amount they do.
