I haven't made a thread here in too damn long that just got some discussion going.

SO~

I think by now we know the level listing for Sonic Generations HD, which if you don't, it's:
Green Hill
Chemical Plant
Sky Sanctuary
Speed Highway
City Escape
Seaside Hill
Crisis City
Rooftop Run
Planet Wisp
Well, I was thinking, if you could pick the levels to go into Generations, which would you choose? Would any levels on that list still be there? Would you want to replace any? Etc etc.

If I had my way, it'd be a 3-D version of Sonic 3 & Knuckles' levels, because, you know, I love those levels. A lot. :P

You did a similar thread in April:
Lava Reef, Spring Stadium Music Plant, Techno Base, Hot Crater, Toy Kingdom The boss of Sky Babylon. Also Plant Kingdom. Pyramid Cave, a reimagined Sandopolis Holoska Wii mixed with the HD version, Dragon Road Digital Circuit and Mad Matrix.

We had no idea what the levels were at the time, though. Only Green Hill was confirmed at the time if even that.

Actually I would like to see few stages again though deconfirmed Mushroom Hill (S&K) , Emerald Coast (SADX) , Casinopollis (SADX) , Lava Reef (S&K) , Red Mountain(SADX) , Green Forest (SA2B) , Spring Yard Zone (SG-1) , and that Space highway from sonic CD where you face Metal in a race to the finish or at least before the beam of light catches you first

Out of those, Mushroom Hill's actually in the 3DS version. None of the others though, unfortunately.

Like, any level that was from Sonic CD,given the ability to travel to the future and past in the level was available.Sadly we just got a boss(unless we got a level and I didn't hear of it yet.)

Also,Sweet Mountain.

Hydrocity, Ice Cap or Lava Reef would have made me more happy than Sky Sanctuary. Also, Dragon Road was easily the coolest stage in Unleashed imo.

My personal favorite Unleashed stage was Apotos, but really, all the day stages for the most part were neat.

Emerald Coast in the console Generations would have been cool unlike the apalling section in Sonic 2006.

I'd actually pay for DLC levels if they're full on new levels with at least a retro and modern act + boss + remixed theme music each. I doubt it'll happen as the last DLC we got on a sonic game was more challenge levels for the zones already in the game.

I wouldn't mind if they did what they did for Unleashed, and add more acts to the game. But more actual acts and not "this is more like some kind of mission-based level, lolol".

The Scrap Brain Zone. It would be good for Modern Sonic's reputation if they pulled it off! I would have liked Metal Harbour, but it is short, and it's mainly for the music. :/

And not what Sonic & Sega Racing did. A character, a course, and five music tracks for that course for $7. A bit expensive... No other DLC released for the game that I know of.

So after playing Generations, I can say I'm quite satisfied with the levels overall, but I still am a little upset they gave both Dragon Road and Windmill Isle the shaft in favor of Rooftop Run.

Spring Yard Zone, Metropolis Zone, Hydrocity Zone, Flying Battery Zone, Casino Park, Chun-Nan and Starlight Carnival. I'm hoping for DLC levels and for one of those to be included.

I honestly don't think it'd feel right somehow add DLC for zones that didn't appear in the game already, since the game has a good formula of one zone per game. Although I hope they add extra acts somehow. Prolly won't happen, but I can dream..

I have a feeling Sega is going to make some DLC packs for this though I hate paying for stuff they could've easily put in the game even if it meant delaying it for a while longer but past DLC packs Sega's offered haven't been stellar.

Sonic Next Gen had hard modes yet couldn't make a patch to clean up the crappy glitches so at least make it functional.

Unleashed had DLC but most of us either bought the Wii/PS2 version or took it back to Gamestop after it was beaten.

And of course SASASR which gave us hopes of seeing more characters only gave us Metal Sonic and the Death Egg (glad I saved $10 and bought the Wii version).

So we'll see if Sega comes through on new levels for this.

Unleashed had decent DLC. For 3 dollars per DLC pack, you got like 4-8 levels out of each one, at least 2 of those being Day Stages. In select packs, there were as many as 4-5 Day Stages though a couple (see also: half the packs' content) were #-2s which in most cases were just harder versions of the stage. Though I love Windmill Isle Day 1-2, thought it was a great stage.

DLC for other titles on the other hand I can't say anything about, haven't got the games on the system, haven't gotten the DLC, can't judge.

Yeah this definately needs more Sonic 3, and the fact that they have Planet Wisp but left out Starlight Zone makes me want to wait till the price drop.

I actually kinda hope they start usind DLC to add even more levels to the game BUT then that would probably cause them to run out of ideas for Sonic 4: Episode 2 ;) (yeah yeah cheap shot I know...)

DLC is something I like yet hate at the same time. When its done right, and adds something that probably wasn't planned for/wouldn't fit with the game(See Knives Chau,Freddy Krugher,or Star Wars:TFUII $1 dlc,) or free(see the Assassins Creed Brotherhood dlc,) then I'm fine with it.When its done poorly, priced wrong(see Star Wars:TFU $10 buck dlc[finally earning a price drop])or planned for the game from the start, with proof(see Assassins Creed II's chapter dlc,or MvsC3's DLC that was found on the disk,) then I hate it.Rockstar games is the King of DLC if you ask me,well, they were with GTAIV and Red Dead at least, since the GTAIV dlc was a new chapter altogether, and Undead Nightmare had John Marston shooting zombies, and that would obviously not fit in with the main game.

It would make sense to give Sonic Generations dlc, considering how it has one stage from 9 games, having two stages from one game on disk would just be strange.

I can get full games with more content than the average DLC pack for $5. I have a right to fuss. Plus there's the Call of Duty map packs...

Anything not named Mario, Zelda or Pokemon for the GBA sold in the past six years or so averages about $6 all together (used, of course). Having bought several myself, I can vouch for fully decent content.

While s0 went overboard, I can agee that you can't really vouch for the fact you buy your games well well after their release and used, and on top of that, I don't recall seeing any games from any of those series selling for under 5 dollars even used on GBA. They typically hover close to 10 dollars.

I said everything but those three series. :P Really, your challenge is ridiculous. "Find me a current generation game that costs as much as DLC without being digital". There's not a platform out there that's ever had games that cheap. In addition, there's not DLC out there that's ever been that big. The entire point of DLC is to charge you more for something with the justification that it's "cheaper". Overall content and time spent with it is nil in most cases, and if you're spending $7 now, and $7 next time, and $7 the time after that, you'll reach enough to buy an actual game (with more than twice the content of all that DLC, to be generous on the DLC's part) before eight pieces of DLC are bought.

That was my point, MS. You're being too unrealistic if you expect to find a game for the same price as DLC and be full of quality content.

In other words, you're far too cheap.

I thought they should have swapped Perfect Chaos for the Biolizard because at least with Adventure 2 you can beat it without a Superform with Shadow.

That's true, and I bet it'd have brought back better memories than that of the Perfect Chaos fight. A lot of people dislike Adventure 1 but think Adventure 2 is a great game.
