How Sonic Can Swim In The Olympic Games

An interesting article about Sonic on SiliconEra and why he swims...I've never thought about this and it's worth the read if anyone is interested.

In short, everyone knows Sonic isn't suppose to swim but he ends up taking part in the swimming event in the 2012 Olympic Games title. 

It kind of blows thou because it almost feels that the Sonic series gets ruined because of it and I can imagine people's reaction towards this feature.

He wears a lifejacket,so I didn't mind.

Although that is pretty interesting about the thing on swimwear.

Well he's been swimming since the first Olympic game crossover and I remember watching a video from the E for All show where the guy was showing off the game and setting up the swimming event and he selected Sonic and said "Sonic's not much of a swimmer so we put a life jacket on him." (audience chuckles) moderator says "you think I'm joking?" Game loads up and Sonic is shown there with a little yellow life jacket and the audience laughes louder. And then the fact that Sonic's swim was a dog paddle and even folks who can't swim can dog paddle.

Plus it's a spinoff and not considered to be cannon anyway. Never mind the fact that it's possible for slower characters to outrun Sonic in the track events.

Though I would've liked to have seen them wearing different outfits for some of the events like swimwear or wearing protective gear for hockey or fencing I mean I love their soccer uniforms in Super Mario Strikers.

another good question is, how can eggman swim?

it took Sonic almost his whole life to learn something Tails knew when he was 2. Heck, in a way they all doggypaddle.

Sonic doesn't need to swim, he'll just boost across the water now. :Pmacrules_640

hahaha, it's a shame thou, sports have rules. I mean I would like to see him break those rules thou if he's ever against Mario or Dr. Eggman and still win!
