I assume alot of you got video games for Christmas growing up do you have a favorite memory?

For me it was the Christmas of 1994 I remember getting Donkey Kong Country I also got a bean bag. It's funny if I think about it I can still remember the smell of the bean bag. I was hyped to play DKC because I was excited about it for months looking at gaming magazines and reading about it I even got a VHS in the mail about the making of the game before it came out. It's one of those games for me at least that lived up to the hype which made playing it on Christmas morning special.

Here's a pic of the VHS I found online lol.

I have that VHS as well.

My favorite memory would be getting Super Smash Bros Melee and a GameCube for Christmas. Both of which I still have, including my original save file (over 5000 hours).

My favourite memory would be when my brother and I got the PS2 for Christmas along with Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter. We played those games for hours christmas morning, I remember thinking the graphics were so crystal clear compared to our PS1 haha.

@girlusocrazy: that’s pretty cool?? Still got the ds and the games for sentimental value??

@warmblur I don’t have any Christmas video game memories because for some reason I don’t get gifted video game items for Christmas. I get plenty of GameStop gift cards however lol.

PS2 was a pretty big jump from PS1 we've come a long way though thanks for sharing.

When I got a DS and like 6 games for it all at once

Sounds nice the only problem it couldn't play Bloodborne.😉

Well at least it's video game related and you can buy what you want.

Well I'm a bit of an older gamer, my favourite Christmas memory was setting up my Sega Mega Drive (what you guys called the 'Sega Genesis') Christmas 1991. Having games load instantly was amazing!

Before this my gaming machine was a Commodore 64. A machine that in Europe at least, had most of its games and software on cassette tape. Honestly, I think I spent about quarter of the first part of my gaming life waiting for my games to load, or not load as was a common issue back then!

The Sega MD was the last time I received a new console or games at Christmas, after this I bought my own machines and games.

The commodore 64 light fantastic.

Asked santa for it and when i saw the big box on christmas morning i went for that strsight away. Unwrapped it and underneath was just a white box.

Ran back up the stairs crying to my parents thst santa hadnt got me one. Which certainly puzzled my parents. So they said have you looked inside the box and sure enough it was the commodore 64.

Amazing computer. Might not look the best but the gameplay on those games were amazing as thats all they had.

xmas day was like the only time my parents would let us hook up our consoles on our bigger tv upstairs ( usually had to play on a tiny little 13" crt in our basement ) so it was always a fun day.

my brother got nhl 94 for our genesis one year and we spent all afternoon playing. blackhawks vs flames was our classic matchup. we may have gotten fifa that same year too.

getting our original nes in like '89 was awesome too.

The Christmas we got a new NES to replace the broken one and a copy of Super Mario Bros. 3 is pretty high up there! We also had that Christmas in, I think ‘94, where we got a SNES arcade stick, DKC, and Aero the Acrobat.
