I had great memories of playing Contra on Famicom. I don't remember how many times I completed this game. The gameplay was pure fun, especially the 2P mode with friends.
I really liked the different types of guns available in the game. The ending of the game was also highly satisfying.
Another favorite childhood game is Tecmo Cup Soccer Game aka Captain Robin. I still remember staying up till 4 am with my bro to complete the game. I loved the opening tune, the gameplay, and the story of the game.
The best part of the game was special animated kicks from star players. It was kind of an RPG soccer game with players leveling up after each game.
Yet another favorite childhood game is Top Gear 2 on Sega Genesis. It had one of the best tunes in a game at the time.
I also loved playing Alladin on Sega Genesis. Just watching the intro brings a smile on my face.
