What is the big rush?

Assuming you support a fair and equal democracy, why do you need Trump to concede already? Due to the pandemic, this has been an unprecedented election. Incidents of voter fraud are blowing up daily. Don’t you want each case to be investigated? It’s not like Biden starts as PotUS tomorrow, or the next day, etc etc. With thousands on the streets celebrating Biden’s alleged win, aren’t you concerned covid numbers rise? You were during Trump’s campaign stops.

With many anti Trumpers ‘by any means necessary’ crowds and all incidents appearing to all be in Biden’s favour - doesn’t it make sense there’d be widespread fraud? If they watched CNN ‘racist/sexist/homophobe’ coverage for the past four years, I’m surprised Trump made it through his first term alive.

I remind you in 2000 the Gore/Bush election wasn’t decided immediately as per Democrat request for recounts.

If you’re confident Biden won legitimately, wouldn’t you want any fraud claims to be quelled?

He called the election for himself on election day ("frankly, we did win"), before all of the mail-in votes were counted.

He then declared there was mass election fraud, on election day, before the mail-in votes were counted and before any investigations took place.

He then declared he would win if only "legal votes" were counted, before any investigation could possinly verify that claim.

So since you care about democracy so much, surely you can't jump to conclusions and believe a word Trump has been saying?

@Planeforger: There’s been fraud allegations prior to Election Day, you realize. Ballot harvesting, military ballots tossed, paid votes etc etc. Had your preferred media outlet reported those, perhaps you wouldn’t be so ignorant on the topic.

As an outsider, I think the problem is the lack of evidence of voter fraud.

I suspect there will be some cases identified, but unlikely to be at a scale that will make a difference to the current outcome.

Moreover, there is a need for a transition. A transition is very important.

The best example of the importance of an orderly transition is the Obama government taking time and energy to explain to the Trump government the expectation of a global pandemic. The need to continue the pandemic office and prepare for PPE.

But unfortunately...we all know the story now...

We all know Republicans were the ones committing voter fraud and suppression and they still lost. That's why the denial is so strong and the tears overflowing. The official position of the Trump campaign is that ballot counting was to continue in AZ and NV where he trails and should should stop in GA and PA where he leads. So fraud only exists where he’s winning... There's zero evidence other than the ranting of the loosing side.

Trump rants that all the mail in votes are for Biden but was opposed to mail in voting before and now cries that he fell behind in states with mail in voting.

Biden will be president, Trump and his base just need to take the L like an adult, and his "Fu** your feelings" and "still your president" base need to come to terms with the fact that everything they said in the last 4 years are now going to be thrown back in their face.

It’s almost like Trumpers live in their own alternative reality. The tears will be flowing when Biden gets sworn in. They probably get their news from Project Veritas. We know Sevenizz does.

as far as legal challenges, he is perfectly within his rights to challenge in court. i suspect that's a dead-end path but if he needs it to try to save face having and assuage his tender little ego after he got a beat-down by america, so be it.

I don't care if he concedes or not. He lost and he's on the way out. However, the transition must be done and the funds released. Funds need released. And the GOP needs to stand up for democracy and the American people......not that baby in the White House.

Just saw that Trump is begging for money for a "election defense fund" where the fine print states that 60% of donated funds go towards paying the debt of the actual campaign. Can all this be just another con to save him from another colossal debt, just trying to delay everything while making some money out of his followers? What a character! :D

A better question would be: why draw it out? Why make the process longer than is needed?

I want the election and vote counting to be done near-perfectly just so there is no recourse for the losers, but at the same time having lawsuits and all kinds of nonsense is just childish.

Even it was like 1000 people (and it's not) it wouldn't matter; like our legal system, our democracy is an imperfect system and all you can do is the best you can do. There will never not be voter fraud, and holding up an entire election (that was clearly won by Biden) over a problem that has no solution just to satisfy one man's ego is undemocratic and unreasonable.

As for "waiting and seeing", I agree to an extent, but at the same time that is more or less what Trump wants. Wait one week, find some more examples or rumors of fraud, extend it out....wait a month, find some more rumors. Wait another six weeks, maybe some allies jump on board and pretty soon it's 01/20/21 and Trump is still there whining about votes.

Give him two weeks. If an impartial body can't prove voter fraud and that Trump got more electoral votes, then it's time to concede.

Come on that's BS. There is zero credible evidence of fraud and we shouldn't pander to his whining. No other outgoing president EVER acted this way. You have proof that would be different. But there is none.

More likely they are just simple mistakes and miscounts, which is why we have the whole recount apparatus in place. Again, it's an imperfect system and these things have been taken into account.

That was a matter involving one state over a few hundred votes, not four constituting tens of thousands. We're not even in the same ballpark. There is zero evidence of widespread voter fraud as is being claimed. None. Yes, you're going to have discrepancies and inaccuracies in any election that is so encompassing of a large populace, but it's a far cry from what is being asserted. They are talking out of their behinds, desperate, not because they "care for America", are trying to "defend democracy", or are "fighting for the American public" (for those actually gullible enough to buy such transparency). It's because they LOST, period, end of story. I wish the Right would stop insulting the intelligence of Americans in trying to frame this as something bigger than Trump's pathetic ego and his desire to win at all costs. That's all it's about, and it's all it's ever been about.

Why don't you acknowledge that Trump was pushing this scenario before he had any evidence to back it up? That fact alone should scream to you that he didn't care about evidence, he viewed it as simply a means to fight a pre-determined result, and he is now scrambling to find and make up any to fit his narrative now that a 50/50 didn't turn in his favor. That's not how evidence works. You don't make up a reality and then try to have actual reality conform to it after the fact to vindicate yourself by looking for any means necessary in substantiation of a prediction you made before it even came to pass. That's why people, (and especially the courts) are so far laughing their asses off at him. Watching this is absolutely excruciating, but I must admit, highly entertaining. It's making the liberal meltdowns in '16 look like child's play, and it's going to go on for months.

Of course I want fraud to be investigated, but I operate on evidence, not on the word of a con man, a proven pathological liar who has revolved his entire life around promoting the image of the ultimate winner. Yeah, this wasn't at all predictable when he turns out the loser. No, you could see this coming from a million miles off.
