So now Trump fully supports Obamacare? Damn, I didn't know.
Honestly, Trump is just a big troll. He's a liar, but knows his base is stupid enough to eat the lies. He's the ultimate politician, and here we though he was a business man. Lol.
Trump is smarter than people think he is. Most of of Trump's fanbase is in middle class and they are the most in favor of Medicare. But I don't know how that convinces them to vote for Republican party. He's a con man.
What surprises me is that people are still taking him literally, and not seriously.
The operative nugget in the full quote is not indicative of Trump running to defend the ACA. He also clearly says in this quote that the obliteration of 'Obamacare' would be good, but that the democrats would exacerbate the current cost problem and leave behind even bigger problems. You can see it all below.
"You know what's happening. And your taxes are going to triple, maybe quadruple. You're not going to be happy. I know you well. The Democrat plan would obliterate Obamacare. It will also — which is good but leave the bad parts behind. It will destroy Medicare."
If you want to splash around in the shallow end of political conversations, by all means keep taking him literally.
After seeing today's press conference I get even more the idea that he's a tad bit too senile. No disrespect to the elderly but there's way too much old people in politics and justice.

Oh no Trump doing election tactics ....
The world is burning now or something.
@musicalmac: Don't mistake brevity for simplicity, there's a lot going on here. I posted Reason as a source intentionally - because they'd cover it in as flattering a light as possible.
It's been a while since I've read it at this point, but going from memory it said something like, "we assume he meant Medicare and then tried to backtrack. But then again he's been talking about keeping preexisting conditions protextions and Democrats gutting those protections, soooooo idunno."
Was this a slip of the tongue, a shift in long term strategy, or a blatant midterm lie that will be swiftly discarded? I'm betting on the latter myself, but even those in his party are confused a bit right now.
My comment about this being illustrative of the bind they're in is reflective of my assumption that it's intentional one way or the other.
@mattbbpl: There’s also a lack of context and the quote is picked apart so much that I’m not sure reading into it is going to do any good.
Taking Trump literally vs seriously is what’s most important.

What do you mean by "literally vs seriously," then? I thought I'd articulated why I was taking him seriously, but perhaps that's not the case if you're using a specific definition or connotation.
