https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/02/president-trump-we-have-to-do-something-about-violent-video-games-movies/

In a White House meeting held with lawmakers on the theme of school safety, President Donald Trump offered both a direct and vague call to action against violence in media by calling out video games and movies.

"We have to do something about what [kids are] seeing and how they're seeing it," Trump said during the meeting. "And also video games. I'm hearing more and more people say the level of violence on video games is shaping more and more people's thoughts."

Trump followed this statement by referencing "movies [that] come out that are so violent with the killing and everything else." He made a suggestion for keeping children from watching violent films: "Maybe they have to put a rating system for that." The MPAA's ratings board began adding specific disclaimers about sexual, drug, and violent content in all rated films in the year 2000, which can be found in small text in every MPAA rating box.

The White House meeting also placed blame for last week's tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida, on factors such as a lack of "mental institutions" in the United States and marked gun-free zones. "When they see 'this is a gun-free zone,' that means that nobody has a gun except them," Trump said. "Nobody is going to be shooting in the other direction. And they see that as such a beautiful target. They live for gun-free zones."

Trump did not acknowledge recommendations for bans on assault-style weapons during the meeting. He instead used Twitter to recommend raising a minimum gun-buying age to 21 years and ending the sale of assault-rifle bump stocks.

But goldenelement in SW says it's only liberals that want to regulate games.

Besides, so much for being the "anti-PC" president, right Trump?

I had to look that up, pretty neat, actually. Nintendo made them taste bitter so children would spit them out! Good on Nintendo

You mean WAS best friends. Donald has lost a lot of friends, especially over politics, which also include Joe Scarborough and Mike Brezinski of Morning Joe.

I’m a gun owner and honestly every gun owner in America should be looking for gun control measures to curb these mass shootings. Even if you don’t care one iota for the victims, if it keeps up at this rate they are taking your guns away. You have to know that.

Considering millions upon millions of people outside of the US are playing the exact same games and not shooting up places in their community, I'd say it's got something unique to do with America.

No, it does not surprise me.

Considering that most politicians are older men who were still alive during the last "war" against Rock music.

The story sounded fake tho, Just look at that name Nardolillo III, it sounds like a fake name.

Not going to happen. That is why there is a ratings system. Video games are not the problem. I play shooters my whole life, I know others who do and none of us got any type of ideas about harming others in real life. What they need to do is raise the age of purchasing firearms or just only allow law enforcement to carry which it should be. Pedestrians shouldn't have access to rocket launchers, AK's or any other type of military weaponry.

We go through this every time. Nothing ever happens. I doubt anything significant changes any time soon.

You are correct. The solution to end gun violence is that we need more policing and more armed security. This has always been the solution, but liberals would rather waste their time arguing about gun control laws that will never be passed.

@toast_burner: I am blaming liberals because they often completely refuse solutions. They don't think it's a good idea for armed police or armed security guards to protect their children. I guess we will see what happens, but the solution is easy.

@vfighter: 6-12 months to turn them in to a collection station then after that it’s a felony firearms charge for being caught with it. 95%+ compliance guaranteed. I own guns but I’m not going to become a felon to protect what is basically a casual hobby.
