I suppose if they had foreign policy positions that russian is favorable to, they may try to support them, but do you think Russia owns these candidates or is Hillary off base?

Hillary is mad at Jill Stein as well as other 2016 third party candidates because she believes that if they didn't run they wouldn't have received votes that could have went to her and allowed her to win the election.

As for Tulsi Gabbard, it appears that Hillary may be one of those people that thinks she's secretly trying to get Trump reelected. She's probably the best chance Democrats have to beat Trump and they're going to end up making her #walkaway at this rate.

We already know that most Republicans will vote for Trump and most Democrats will vote for whoever wins the Democratic nomination no matter who it is even if it is alleged Russian asset Tulsi Gabbard. There isn't much that can happen between today and November 2020 that will change that.

I would say the misinformation and misdirection going around about Tulsi is rivalling the negativity going on about Trump at the moment. From the DE playing games with the polls for the primaries, to her religious background somehow meaning she is a religious fanatic, to asking questions to Assad (which is not that uncommon I wager among politicians who deal with foreign nations) meaning she would be working for Assad, to the misinformation about her voting history and how she may as well be republican despite her policies, to accusing her of being a white supremacist because of who believes in her... It's one angle after another to try and defame her or seed mistrust, every time without much to go on. Every time not about her actual policies. Using juicy stories that people would love to believe if only for the intrigue. A continuous train of misinformation and spin-doctoring.

And like you say she isn't a front runner. So why all of this? Why make a thin as hair accusation about her being some Russian agent. Why would Clinton care so much about this, about her, to damage her own reputation by telling us this story? Even if she knew something, why would she choose herself to tell this story, right after the whole Russia-Trump fiasco without a strong basis out of the gate?

Looking at everything said about Tulsi it could be that someone or something is especially interested in bringing Tulsi down, but I wouldn't know why. Someone working with Clinton, who only stepped out of the shadows for them to create this odd extra layer of unknowns. Russia is likely aware that any 'connections' they leak/raise awareness of can hurt a candidate's chances. I would be surprised if they don't use this information to influence important elections (around the world) at least a little.

If Russia has been meddling with some candidates, I could see them use Clinton, giving her a head's up. That would make a little bit of sense at least, because Clinton could then sit on evidence to support this story, and Tulsi may not even be aware there was any Russian connection. That is the only way I can make sense of Clinton herself coming with this story in this fashion. Or Clinton and her support team are just not that smart. I mean, she's been through this before. I guess that makes more sense than all this intrigue.

My question is this. Those claims are incredibly inflammatory and potentially damaging. Is she just theorizing or does she have some kind of evidence showing that these women are russian assets? If not, is that defamation or just a voicing of an opinion? Is she insinuating that russia may be interested in promoting these people, but the people , themselves, are not aware OR is she saying that they are conspiring?

Defamation is incredibly hard to win, especially when we have two people who are public figures. Especially when Tulsi has to prove that Clinton made those statements with intent to hurt/malice.

Also, case-law, especially from the Supreme court, has almost always sided with a broad scope towards the 1st amendment. So while Tulsi could sue, a chance of winning is almost 0 %, so it would just cost a shit ton of cash, cash which she needs to spend on her losing campaign and not on lawsuits.

Biden has several issues that make him a bad candidate to potentially include his health. You can bring up Trump’s health but the guy you’re trying to replace him with would be older on his inauguration day than Reagan was on his last day in office. Or if they follow AOC and go with Bernie instead of Biden he is even older than him and has the added bonus of suffering a recent heart attack. From what it looks like, Warren is the DNC's current candidate of choice because everything can fall apart with Biden at any moment since the media can't cover for his gaffes forever, which I can guarantee will be on full display in attack ads if he gets the nomination.

Tulsi Gabbard may not have a chance at getting the nomination, but Hillary just accused her of being a Russian agent with even less proof than they had against Trump. This isn’t like Trump where they could mock his lack of service because of his draft medical deferment for bone spurs (while conveniently ignoring Biden’s medical deferment for asthma), Tulsi is a Iraq War veteran that earned the Combat Medical Badge and is still serving as a major in the Hawaii Army National Guard. When Tulsi eventually drops out of the race her supporters may pull a Bernie Bros move and either vote for Trump out of spite or just stay home altogether even if she endorses the eventual nominee.

Then people like yourself seem to believe that the country is ready to vote for socialism just because it’s not Trump. Most people in this forum may be willing to, but this forum not only isn’t a representation of the country as a whole, but several posters here aren’t eligible to vote in the United States either.

I’m not going to factor in the Ukraine or China scandals with his son because the media already did a great job convincing most potential Biden voters that it is a nothing burger unworthy of further investigation (after spending almost three years investigating Trump and his family).
